What do you think the purpose of the stars on the mag valves was? They break once in a while too and need service.

Most people sent them in just to use the stars and because they thought the rebuild would get them better efficiency . I also know many people who never used any starts or didn't know what they meant from buying mags second Hand

Whatever dude, if you think mags never fail I am not going to continue arguing with such absurdity. I agree they are VERY reliable when taken care of.....just like a lot of markers out there. Not reliable enough to warrant no need for a backup for a tourney player.

Your right and in reality I don't think you could get a reliable PSP 12.5 on anything but a pnuemag

i tried to shoot a mag for an entire day once.....
lasted like 3 games
love em, they are fun, but i never had a reliable one.
one i found surprisingly reliable is a stock ion. throw a battery in when needed, never take it apart, and dont throw it off a cliff, she'll shoot!

I usually carry 5 guns with me to field, every time.
Sure it's not necessary, but I have them and they
do me no good at home if myself or a teammate
eventually needs them. But I'm very much not the
normal type, I carry at least 2 of everything, if not
3. Never knew how to travel light..

any and every can and will fail. something is bound to wear. solenoid magnets give out, o rings blow, seals deplete, paint jams guns, **** just happens. my guns are meticulous. sometimes you dont have time to clean out paint breaking in a breach so u grab ur other gun / hopper and go.
having one gun is absolutely stupid. flame on. when your one gun goes down THAT ONE AND ONLY TIME you WILL regret it.

You can't lube the bolt without taking apart a stock ion

To keep it simple as possible.
Do you absolutely need one on the recball level?
No.
Is it nice to have one on the recball level?
Yessir.

Your point is? Take it apart and lube it once a month (Ions are nice with lube that way) and call it good when you need a backup. Hell, even with a stock board you can set it to 12.0bps semi and it'll be PSP legal.

Lmfao. So what you're isn't biased or anything right? What about a G6R? Or just about any other gun?
So... what about every gun I own, in which none fail on me? Or basically any gun I maintain?
No, recball level of play a back up isn't necessary. Tournaments and even scenario's are an absolute must.

G6rs leak from the asas like victories especially on bad dives . Victories have the bolt shoot out and sheer of the ram . G6rs are also bad when it's cold and they can leak between the body halves if they get out of line . I would take a backup for these guns

I've never heard of a Victory shooting the bolt out or sheering the ram and I've never heard of a G6R with misaligned halves unless the owner was too stupid to tighten them together.

For a backup, just get a cheap electro if your short on cash. A fenix will do fine.

Every gun has the potential to go down. Whatever the reason or no matter how easy the fix, I would rather grab an identical set-up and keep playing rather than spending any amount of time trying to diagnose and fix the broken gun. Especially if it is going to cut into my playing time. Sometimes there is a large gap in between games and if everything else is ready I'll attempt a fix.
That being said I have a back up dm12 for my dm13. The m12 is set up very similar to the 13. If anything were to happen, it takes the same amount of time to reach down and pick up the m12 as it would the m13 and then I can get back to the grinding out points.
