gog g1 vs sp1

Iv been looking at some woodsball/milsim markers and I came across these two.
I know they are booth made by smart parts but what are the differences, because the pricing is about a 100 bucks apart. Furthermore are the worth the buy, keeping in mind I don't play speedball and I like the milsim feel and the electronic internals.

where do you see a price difference of 100 bucks? I thought both were listed at 189?

Depends on what the offset feedneck is worth to you. Personally since they are the same marker, go with the SP1. At some point if you want to they sell the body with the offset feedneck for less than $40.
I have 2 SP-1s and they are the markers that wont let me down. I have yet to have a issue other than 2 things. The power button cracked and you have to have a allen key or similar to on/off it. No big deal. 2nd is the stock asa had a rough thread that tore up my oring on the tank. I have a On off asa on it now.
For the extra cash, you can get a on/off asa, aftermarket barrel, and or a mask. Or just more $$$ for paint

I want to say you need a new breach if you want eyes for the sp1..

the g1 comes with that, the stock, several more fireing modes on the stock board and the feedneck option..

I actually had an Sp-1 from when they first came out until the time that smart parts was bought by GOG. As said before, they are the same exact thing other than the moveable feed neck and the fact that the GOG comes pre-drilled for eyes. Stock sp-1's need to buy a new breach barrel(I believe that is what it is called) which costs $30 from GOG.

Other than that, they are the same. The only problem I had with the gun was operator errors (it was my first gun) such as a dead battery and dumb stuff like that...

Although they are the same design, there are differences.

SP-1
10 " barrel
2 firing modes - locked semi and selectfire (semi/3rd burst/FA)
Breech is non drilled
center feed only
Mulit-Gas Operation

G-1
14" barrel
4-5 firing modes
a.) locked semi
b.) select fire (see above)
c.) PSP Ramping
d.) Millennium Ramping
e.) Billy Ball
Breech is eye ready
Feedneck is adjustable (left/right/center)
M16 Style extending stock
Mulit-Gas Operation

The G-1 definately has more to offer. The only recommended upgrade is an on/off asa (mine had a CP standard mini mount). But although they look the same, they really are different. I had an SP-1, loved it, great gun all around, but recently sold it because it doesn't get used much anymore.

The only thing I will say negative about it is it eats batteries. If you leave the battery plugged in after you shut it off, the solenoid will still drain the battery. Make sure you unplug the battery after each day of play.

Well this will not be my first marker, my biggest concern is how the sp1 shoulders without a stock and are eyes essential?

It shoulders just fine, both will shoulder the same as the stock on the G-1 is optional, you don't have to use it. My SP1 didn't have eyes, but the stock board only shoots 11 bps so if you have a force feed loader, the eyes are also optional. I used a 12v Viewloader Revolution and it kept up just fine, and it's basically a motorized gravity feeder. A Halo Too will handle all your feeding needs just as well, if not better.

another concern i have with the sp1 is that I can't find any stock adapter plates that haven't been discontinued, besides that I would be sett on the sp1

GoG should have everything you need since the G-1 mount will work on the SP-1, it's only 2 screws that mount the stock. The only disadvantage to this is if you ever need to remove your bolt on either, you will have to remove the stock to get to the bolt. I ran mine bottom line style, no stock and it shouldered well without it. Plus, stocks that high up on the back will interfere with most masks on the market.

Ya you do have a point I think the best bet for me will be the sp1 with a cp barrel and asa but with the on/off asa will I need to put macro line or new fittings since the port is longer and it will require a longer line?

I used a Special Ops Paintball, T2 stock on my SP1. It mounts under the Pistol grip, and it allows for Bolt out back capabilities. It also sat lower, therefore you can wear any mask. Mine was a Blackheart Boarded SP1, and I used the L7 BOLT with it.

Yes to both.

The only problem with that is the T2 stock is only available used, as Spec Ops is owned by Tippmann now and only caters to Tiberius and Tippmann products.

NA World Thanks for your posts. I was also concerned on the two Markers. I still prefer the G1 over the SP1. But to each there own.
