good hopper?

What is a good hopper to use for airball? I heard the rotor is good, but I also heard the spire is just as good. Any thoughts?

I personally like the spire over the rotor or z2.

Rotor Is amazing, and the prices on them are dropping to dirt cheap

Almost all hoppers today are good. Basically as long as you stay away from hoppers that allways agitate or try to spin (like the torque, and most super cheap hoppers) and eggs, and the vmax youll be fine.

While most hoppers are good. There is an big difference in shooting with a halo opposed to a rotor. I'd get a rotor over a spire because they're cheaper and easier to find used.

I've been playing paintball since 1993. If it's been for sale, I've used it or owned it.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way; let me make this statement:

The only loaders (not counting gravity-fed hoppers for pump play) I would spend my money on again would be another Rotor and/or another VL Revolution. They are (in my experienced opinion) the only motorized loaders that are built to withstand the demands of paintball. There are certainly other loaders that will feed your gun just fine -- that's not my point. My point is that all other loaders will break because they're made out of brittle, pathetic plastic. And when that model is discontinued, you've got a $150 paperweight (Exhibit A: My original Prophecy -- as soon as all the shells are out of stock/unavailable -- and trust me, they'll keep breaking.)

My $.02. Cheers.

The rotor. The z2 and the spire are all great loaders.

Depends on how much money you want to spend.

Will never buy a z2 again, that thing broke open on me multiple times in a game.

Just got a Spire, awesome. So far, IMO, best Hopper I have played with since my start in 2005.

Can't say much about Rotors since I haven't owned one.... but I hate Dye so that's that.

for 30 bucks. you cant go wrong with a vlocity. feeds faster than 12.5, holds a solid 200 paintballs and is straight agg status.

Get a revy dude. It won't break, it feeds fast enough and you will look like one pimpin mother ****er on the field.

I have a rotor and a spire. Both are great the biggest difference for me is that I like to tilt my gun to the left or right depending which hand I am using. The rotor is better for this because it always feeds but the spire will stop loading when when you get down to about 20-30 balls left.

I second the Revvy, I absolutely love mine! If you absolutely must have force feed, the Rotor is good, but I still like my Revvy. The HALO B is another very good loader that I love, and I've never had a problem with mine.
Yep

I have a V-Max, had it for almost 6 months. Never had a problem with it. Can't say if it is better than a rotor or spire (have not used those) but has worked great for me. Keeps up with my Ego fine and is very easy to disassemble and clean. Ramping my Ego, I can't out shoot it, that is all that matters to me.

lots of good hoppers out there, each has advantages and disadvantages. I use a velocity SF and it does fine but its hard on batteries and is not the easiest to clean and take apart. But they are really cheap and hold 200 balls which is nice. But its all about what you want to spend. Like some others said a revy will get the job down. Or you can pay 150 more for something fancy.
