Does anyone happen to have any experience with the Tokina 16-28 2.8? I am shooting with the Tokina 12-24 on a Nikon crop sensor now and have had zero issues with it and its pretty darn sharp. I am switching to Canon later this month and need a lens to replace my 12-24 and was looking into the Tokina 16-28 2.8 but haven't seen any reviews on it. That being said is there any other good ultra wide angles out there that I could also consider? (Other than the Canon 16-35 2.8 I may get it one day but for now its out of my price range)
Thanks in advance for any advice

I had the Tokina 16-28 when I had Canon and loved it. It could be a little too wide at times on full frame, but it raped faces on APS-H. No other lens renders light and reflection quite like it. I've got some contributions to the sample thread for that lens on POTN. I highly recommend it.

Thank you so much! Nice to know that you had a good experience with it. I really love my Tokina 12-24 so I sure hope the 16-28 is just as good For 750$ New I think I will definitely give it a try.
Thanks again!

I used to miss my 11-16 until I started shooting on a d3 with a 17-35
like the other guys, no experience with the 16-28.

If you like your 12-24 on your nikon.. you could always sell that when you switch over and buy my 12-24 for canon crop bodies.

Do goalies usually jump like that? haha I totally wouldn't have been expecting that if I was shooting.
And Carl, your dude has MotoGP shots and they are out of focus?! Tell him to send his contacts my way and I'll shoot all their west coast needs.

So its looking like these cloudy skies will be clearing up by 4-5 AM. Think I may head out to the beach and capture some Startrails with the Milkyway rising over the Atlantic Ocean. If I time it right I may even be able to get some Dawn colors on the horizon Should be fun and I will post any pictures that turn out.

Skip, I'm thinking about getting work to send me out on a photoshoot for an ice hockey tournament here in va.
Give me a quick cheat sheet on how to shoot hockey... Like tips/advice that isn't necessarily obvious.
