Me and the dad reffed NPPL a couple of times(denver 04/05 and vegas 04)and getting shot is least of my worries when reffing. Dad had to get a IV started in denver 05, for heat stroke. That was fun.
Like i said when you sign up to reff, you full well know what could happen, thats why turtle caps. bounce vests, elbow pads, a shield and a sliding shorts are your ultimate friend. Grant it, i have been put unconscious from being shot point blank while playing twice,(bunkered square to the flex soft ear, temple style, and psp moded to the back of the head, shot 6-7 times and drew blood) but not even those hurt as bad as a kidney shot from 170 ft away while reffing. lol
Once i played a scenario, where the reff was being a prick at a night game, kept lighting flares at a night game, just right next to where we were all the time.. Needless to say to was a light show the next time he did it, shot the living piss out of him, but he was a champ and never dropped that flare. lol
