Why do pump guns use co2/air. When would you use it.

.....mmuust ....resist... Trolling. jk. I'm assuming you think that the pump action is in some way powering the marker, when in actuality its only loading a ball and cocking the sear back. All markers are powered by air or co2 same as a gun is powered by gun powder. I would suggest looking into some YouTube videos on how autocockers/snipers/any paintball gun works or read up in the many threads on here. The Search bar is also a very useful tool.... You may have seen a stock class set up with 10 gram co2 but thought he was running it with no air supply... All paintball guns must have an air supply(compressed air or co2) to fire a paintball.

Unlike a bb gun or something, when you pump a paintball gun all you do is reset the action. The air still provides the power for the paintball.

If you know how stack tube popits (ego/alien/g6r) imagine if you took out the bolt pin. Something would still need to load the ball, but the rest still needs air like a normal paintball gun (This is a little over-simplified, but I hpoe it helps).
