What's a badass older gun?
I want to learn more about older guns and what kind of damge they used to do. I want to pick something older up for maybe 100-300 bucks. I understand sft and nxt Shockers were pretty nice shooters. Although they aren't that old, still something i'd like a little lesson on(what to look for and what to avoid on there). Apparently they can have a similar shot quality compared to a luxe and the puff sound. I want something a little light. I have a 2005 Angel speed and that things is an anchor. Haha. Autockers interest me too. HELP! I want a classic. I know just about everything about today's markers. Teach me oh mighty ones. Take me under your wing. Thanks!

look into a dm3, its what started the spoolies. otherwise shockers and alias style (generation 3) intimidators are great for building and messing around with.

What upgrades are necesary to make a shocker phenomenal? Smart Parts are known to need upgrades, right?

I second the Automag. Great guns right out of the box, although the trigger takes some getting used to or it will short stroke on you, same with the Cockers. Make sure you pull it all the way back and release it before pulling it again. Other then that, I liked the Mags over the Cockers because you didn't have to re-time a Mag for every upgrade you did to it.
Another way to go is to go pump. It puts a whole new perspective on the game.

Stay away from the Drallion and DragonFly autocockers. One is not cocker compatible and both were made in Taiwan so some/most of the tolerances are off.

gen 3 intimidators. Grab a system X nme if you want something a little older without sacrificing performance. They're beast, and the killer milling turns heads.

Forget the nme, the front hose and barb on weak aluminum suck. Go timmy, you can get an older one for 100 dollars and for another 100 dollars you can 05 mod it and let it rip.
Older ICD markers are fun to shoot
I second or third the automags, great markers
auto cockers are always fun
And the electronic, Smart parts Nerve is an awesome marker for the price you can get them now, I love mine, very very underated.

Sorry, but no, the E-matrix by airtech(which dye bought the rights to) came out in 1999 and was the first electropneumatic spool valve. The automag was mechanical, with the 2002 E-mag having an solenoid operated sear, however the mag has never been an electropneumatic and hasn't "started" any line of spoolies.

sorry but yes. the mag was out first and is a spoolie. where in your twisted little troll mind did I state anything about the mag being the electro spool out. i just pointed out it ultimately started the spool craze.
and even then i'm pretty sure the shocker was out before the matrix

The shocker sport isn't a modern spool, and if you're talking about the SFT that came out in 2003, the E-matrix was 1999.
Though thinking on it a bit more, you have a point. Many of the blowforwards such as the Geo and Freestyle have a lot in common with a mag.
