I had one gold up available for use and now its saying I only have it available if I reup my ASM. I can't afford to reinstate my ASM right now but I feel like I paid to have that gold up, why can't I use it?

If you review the benefit page for ASM, it says:

Benefits provided by the Annual Supporting Membership program are only available during your subscription period.

Throughout your time with an active ASM subscription, you are free to use, donate, or sell your gold ups at your discretion. If memory serves me correctly, you may be able to retain the previous subscription's unused gold ups in addition to the 2 new ones you'll receive upon renewal. This may cause ASM to pay for itself if you sell two or three of the gold ups.
