Filling 68/4500 cf?

Ok, I'm going to start with saying I'm not renting/buying a scuba tank.

Now that that's out of the way, I have one of those HUGE Husky air compressors. It's a professional air compressor or whatever they classify it as. It has the standard end that goes on to the fill nipple on the tank. Would I be able to fill my Ninja with it?

I can provide more details if needed. Everything I've searched for is pretty vague.

Well. How much pressure can ur air compresser produce. I have a very high end air compresser and it only does 1500 psi. Even scuba tanks only do 3000 psi. So it would only fill your tank 2 thirds. If you have an attatchment that would fit a fill nipple then yea it would work. But if your compresser only does 1500 psi its useless.. Lemme know if you have anymore questions?

You can look into a unit that takes the output from your compressor and pumps it up so you can fill paintball tanks I believe it's called the shoebox or something like that

Thanks for the help guys!

EDIT: Damn... that shoebox is expensive. It is really high pressure, but being so small, it takes a long time to refill. If only the closest shop wasn't 30 minutes away and $5.50 for a refill...

The shoebox is great and pays for itself pretty quickly. If you find a cheap scuba it will fill that as well and then time isn't a factor.

It is actually quite cheap ... for a compressor. How much did your 175 psi Husky run you? Plus, if you compare it to one of our compressors, we start at about $3400 and go up from there!

In order to run the shoebox you need a low pressure feed and your existing compressor can do that. Then you just need a bunch of patience ... it takes a LONG time to fill bottles.

We actually got ours for around $400, we got it off Craigslist.

The problem is, with only a part time job, I can't nearly afford that...

That Husky is a $2000 compressor so you did pretty well. But it isn't designed for paintball. And unless you use it for it's intended purpose (air tools), it is $400 tossed down the drain.

Paintball is an equipment intensive activity. If you can't afford the equipment outright, then you must take the next step down and rent it. If you can't afford to do that, then maybe we need to find a more affordable activity.

You were pretty specific in your first sentence of your first post as to what you were NOT willing to do. And now you are pretty clear about what you are not able to afford (shoebox compressor).

I mean no disrespect ... but maybe we need to find some other activity that is less frustrating.

The shoebox is a compressor ... not an attachment. Their best one is about $1100 and their cheapest one is half that.
