I believe most big leagues do not allow any removal of any kind.
In your case, the rubber, but I think that includes straps too.

My teammate got yelled at for doing that at cup.
No problems with the straps being taken off though.

Been out of the loop for a while. So the event frames/lens match up with the JT pro shield bottoms? Does it require modification or? Looks like a good combo and covers the lower portion of the face well. In for info!

No modification required. BUT after taking he bottoms off only 2 or 3 times the holes in the eflex frame "wore out" or something and don't grab the posts on the bottoms as well. I had to jb wield the bottoms on for safety's sake.
