It may be my scale is a little bit off or they are, but either way it's .01 ounce difference and that's hardly noticeable. The HE bolt is slightly heavier than the older bolt because it has the plastic insert in the bolt face and the plug in the tail. The weight on the Techt site is for the original bolt and has never been changed.

There's a thread on pbnation for doing a Techt bolt mod to a Threshy. I have a Threshy on the way and I might as well add how I did the Techt mod to mine on here.

Not trying to Flame your thread but as a machinist it erks me to see you using those calipers the wrong way an could possible be giving a false measurement here is a link on the proper way to use calipers http://tresnainstrument.com/how_to_u...l_caliper.html
I will be doing this mod to my bolt in my shop and atempting to mimic the "new" HE bolt with the cap on the back

LOL, Jason, your OCD is kicking in you also dont need the cap in the back cause it doesnt do anything other than put weight on the bolt. it dont make the bolt more consistent as i recall my test. the consistency was all about the reg with a good paint and barrel combo. i think we prove that during our tourney last weekend

While not the best way to use calipers, I showed the bolt tail lengths which was the point.

We're cool. I went to that site and read it was there. Gotta say that I never considered measuring lengths like they said.

Gotta love the versatility of calipers.

Does the pressure gauge on the back actually work? All the pictures I have seen the gauge is just one zero.

Mine works fine. It's just a gauge going into the dump chamber. The gauge tends to wear out quicker than normal due to repeated pressure swings from around 40psi to 200psi. Use a 300psi gauge so it lasts longer. I originally had a 180psi on mine and it lasted like a day because it was getting maxed out every time the dump chamber filled.

Ah cool. What do you gain from being able to see the pressure in the dump chamber?

In a situation like this, it's good to know the pressure when you're making mods that end up affecting the pressure needed, like the difference between a stock bolt and a modded bolt.

For the most part, I have no use for gauges on the gun. For testing, tuning or experimentation like I do a lot of, then a pressure gauge is pretty convenient. Since I do a fair bit of testing and what not on the DP platforms, the gauge is useful.
