The etek is certainly loud... a lurker eigenbarrel is like $42 shipped and is perfect for an axe.

A small note on barrels: From what I understand, 12 vs 14 inches isn't that big a deal (unless you're planning on selling your stock barrel for scrap and you want to maximize your profit). However, the AXE barrel has a .691 bore, and I believe the ETEK has a .693. If I had to choose one size to use for the end of my days, I'd probably take the .691.
That being said, I'm a huge hypocrite because I bought an aftermarket barrel for my axe.

Honestly I'd say go with the axe... It's backed by empire/KEE and this company has amazing customer service. The axe is also known for its amazing reliability... Plus with the paints these days the biggest bore I'd use is a 689, unless its extremely humid causing balls to swell to like 690... I'd say go with an axe, buy a 2 piece cp, or buy a used dye ultra lite barrel off of the forums here... Good luck.

Etek 4 would be my choice if you do not want to pour more money into your marker. However, if you have the budget an Axe and some upgrades for it is a better choice.

Why would you need to poor money into an Axe ? Altogether I have an aftermarket barrel and a 35.00 bolt in mine, which is hardly pouring money into it.

Etek 4 LT- $500 and up
Etek 4 AM - $600 and up
Axe - $450
Put in a boss bolt, maybe a new barrel, it's still cheaper than an etek.

Axe. It's a high end marker at a mid price point.
I'd buy used.

I ended up investing in quite a few upgrades and payed more for my Axe initially :-/. So never mind what I said lol! If others paid less for their Axes then Axe it is! Another note on the etek, do not buy the AM; it really does not make any significant differences.
