I think the 1 thing that worries me the most about OC is gun grabbers.

I have had military training for stuff like that but its still a scary situation if it happens.

Aside from that I can deal with the police and crazy looks. Plus Im not going into a Mall or Move theatre, thats just dumb right now and asking for trouble.

My rule has always been OC or CC is "dont be a dick to the police or store owners about it".

I open carry around the yard mowing or hiking, otherwise I prefer to CCW.
On the very rare occasion I OC in public I wear a black button down shirt and tan dockers with a nice black leather holster (Glock 19).
Most people assume I'm LEO dressed that way and carrying. I am very clean cut with a solid professional haircut.
It avoids the soccer mom drama.
The cardinal rule to OC in public is SITUATIONAL AWARENESS (head on a swivel).

The only time I OC is on a range. Other then that I CC.

But I mean, who needs firearms when you have "guns" like me.

Also, I keep a gun in my door panel in my car even when I have my CC piece on me, because I feel like if I had to shoot in my car it'd be easier to grab from my door panel then my 4 o'clock. Overly paranoid?

Even if I were allowed to OC here I wouldn't. IMO your giving up your advantage, you'd be an immediate target... F that. I'm all about the element of surprise, with caution. I'm always weary of running vehicles backed into spots at gas stations or banks, And just shady looking people in general (I don't mean to profile but its what needs to be done where i'm from, crime rates don't lie.) Most of my friends don't even know I carry, people talk, word spreads, element of surprise fades away.


To me its a need to know basis, And I wont feel sorry when somebody(s) needs to know.

Actually human behavior assays you'd be a threat, not an easy target, when you open carry... but believe whatever you want. It is all about feeling safe, and being prepared.

Ha I remember that crap on NKO.

I think that an active shooter might make you a target. However some punk robbing a gas station will prob just see you and walk out (If you were OC).

But then again the chances are greater of being somewhere and that place getting robbed than being in a active shooter situation.

IF I were going to rob a gas station and saw a guy(s) packin, I would try another place or wait for them to leave. Why risk it?


On a side note my G21 GEN 4 (45ACP) shoots more like a 9mm than a 45. I think Im starting to like the dual recoil springs.
