08 SLG autofiring as soon as HPA connected

Hello!

I recently bought a used SLG 08 model from someone on craigslist who said it needed a new oring and it would be good to go. It was $40 so I took the chance.

I replaced the said oring, greased the bolt, turned on the gun, and hooked up the tank. The bolt flew back into the ready state, but as soon as I pull the trigger the gun just starts firing like it is in full auto and usually doesn't stop until I unscrew the HPA tank.

I checked all of the orings on the bolt, and in the regulator. I turned turned the regulator adjustment all the way in and then out 4 1/2 turns as I saw someone else suggest. Still the same problem so I turned it out another turn and still had the same problem.

I checked the board settings and it was set to semi auto, 15 bps, 15 trigger sensitivity so I changed it to 10 bps and 20 trigger sensitivity and still no change.

I have tried running it with very little grease and a little oil and also with a lot of grease. Same effect both times.

If need be I can create a video in the next couple of days so you can see what it happening. Anyone had this issue or know what the fix is?

FYI here is the manual. http://www.dyematrix.com/manuals/Pro...SLG_Manual.pdf

Sounds to me like the sear that catches and releases the bolt is worn out and needs to be replaced. You can check around online or call proto for the replacement but I'm pretty sure that's gonna solve your issue

I ended up seeing a video about someone with what seems to be the same problem. I took the gun apart and sure enough the spring for the sear needed to be stretched because the sear wasn't rising high enough to catch the bolt.

I stretched it and put everything together. It is no longer auto firing, but now it is doing like a triple shot and then catching, and the trigger is no longer releasing the microswitch every time. Whoever had the gun before had the trigger set to much too small of a trigger pull so i don't think it is working well to release the microswitch now that the plastic trigger and trigger spring are older. I am going to fix the trigger and see what happens.

I gave it to a friend who knows a dye rep. He is going to look at it and see what needs to be done. I'll let you know what he says
