How long will the spring last before it becomes sluggish/weak?

How often do your pod lid springs wear out lol? Will probably last the same. Plus it is lifetime warranty, which is nice.

The springs will pretty much last for ever. Its a common question to wonder if they'll wear out but those springs will last much much longer than an elastic rubber hinge.

Have you guys done any longevity tests? I ordered one and I know the lifetime warranty would cover it anyways, but I'm curious as to exactly how long before they sag or get weak.

I got one on my Spire and it is a good idea. Haven't had it long enough to really say if it is better. It hasn't been out long at all. We will all see over time how it will work out.

They've never sagged or become weak and this product is the most tested speed feed we've (or probably anyone) ever made. We had these fingers being tested for 8 months before the spire came out.

I gotta be honest, coming from a player standpoint and more importantly a retail standpoint, I can't see any reason outside of sponsor obligations that anyone would want to use anything but a Spire. The Spire is now what the Rotor was 5 years ago, straight up game changer.

Agreed, I miss mine. I can understand not bothering to buy a whole new hopper, but for anyone in the market for one it makes no sense to buy anything else.

The only gripe I had with my spire coming from a Rotor was the battery life.

Anyways, I received my Rotor Crown SF and I am please with it so far. Simple packaging and easy installation.

Had the opportunity to use the Spire at the field this weekend with our first practice. The thing fed great. The speedfeed is amazing.

Ive used one. It definitely doesnt spill balls. Only issue with it is when you're loading paint INTO the hopper, the fingers can get caught and remain open until the paint is shot. Either way, a good speedfeed for snake players for sure.

Have you ever owned a speedfeed before? That pretty much how all of them work.

I've only gotten to use mine once on my Z2, but I did find the same thing as anodyne. I used an exalt speed feed before this and I didn't have as much of a problem with the paddles staying down after loading up with paint. If it were just that I'd be fine with it, but i found the paddles staying down even with no paint in the hopper until i reached in and flipped them back up. Like I said I've only gotten to use it once, so I will have to wait and see how it works in the long run. For the price though, I was expecting a bit more.

It shouldn't stay down with no paint in the hopper.

Steep but a very good product IMO. Why someone didn't develop this sooner I don't know but good thinking on virtues part.

5 years ago the rotor wasn't released. It came out in Dec 2008

However, the gen1's were hit-or-miss. They were finicky and didn't feed anything but tourney paint, jamming constantly; add with that a price of $200 and they didn't really change anything and have never been very popular. Only tourney players with a lot of money bought them, and most of them kept a back up hopper.

They have been out 4 years and haven't sold very much compared to what Odyssey sold when it changed the standard of paintball hoppers.
