Anyone produce anything new lately? Thread has been dead for awhile. Whats everybody use for production? I just got a new controller and head phones. Picked up a s2 with Pioneer hdj-100 headphones. Thinking about picking up Ableton Live 8 since Guitar Center is having the presidents week sale 15% off items over 199.99
I would be saving 75.00 dollars.
I use Ableton Live 8 as well.
As for producing, this is what I'm currently working on at the moment... As of now I'm just trying to get all the sounds ready and arrange the notes... I'll focus on the mix down later on.
When it comes to sub bass, do you guys do anything special other than having a sine wave in the 20-80Hz region and lowpassing everything after 80Hz? And what db levels do you like to keep it at?
realized how dumb it is to post work in progresses on here. especially now after making progress on it and the version I posted sounds dated as ****.
if any one wants to hear some badass dutch gabber I made check this out, some dope production in this, although I would turn the kick-bass distortion down a tad if I revisited it, it clips when it streams.
the track I posted yesterday is coming a long, gonna add a lot of ambience and spacy rave effects, but so far I've got the foundation down.

and I'm always down to share presets man, I have a huge collection of filthy dubstep basslines I don't use any more. they're pretty much all massive ksd files. I have all the basses from my dubstep and electro days, so if you want any specific sound from any of these tracks hit me up tell me the time it's at in the track and I'll hook it up. I used to spend a lot of time tweaking massive so I pretty much figured out how to make a lot of filthy basses but the music I write these days doesn't have any filthy bass in it usually so I never use em.
anyways heres some tracks from a year or two ago that have some decent presets
unfortunately the production value of most of them isn't too great, since I hadn't learned a lot about post mastering and mixdowns at the time and I'm too lazy to go back and fix them up. they do have some dope energy though, especially the exorcist track.
ok since this tread is taking its dying breath I uploaded a .zip containing all of my best dubstep and drum and bass presets, all of them are unique and they are all usable in tracks. some might need tweaks to fit into your own production, but if someone hadn't given me some presets to learn from I wouldn't be anywhere near where I'm at now when it comes to sound design in massive. so if anyone wants the file message me and send me one of your tracks and I'll send you the folder. these are some seriously dirty basses so handle with care.
I don't want to post it in this thread because I don't want them to get around too much, I just want to make sure that the people who need them get them and make good use of them. If I send you the folder please don't go posting them on other forums, I don't want to hear my basses being used without any alteration in 50 different productions by people who didn't get them from me, so if your going to respect my work then pm me and you'll get the presets.
and if anyone wants to work together in making a big preset bank take your best presets compress them and send them to me. there's a couple in here which I kind of consider my signature sounds so if we make a big compilation I would probably exclude them from it.
