If you could find one you like, yea an earlier ego would be great. For just a little more, you could open your uptions up a ton (newer eteks/egos, axes, etc)

Ya you should consider an older high end gun, I also agree with looking at gog guns though they are great guns at a good price.

The problem that I had with my Ego5 was a lack of parts. It was pretty disappointing to hear that they don't make ego5 noid when mine gave out, and that they don't have ego 5 detents.

Make sure when you're buying an older gun,you have access to any parts if it goes down.

Ya that is definitely something to consider, me personally I would not go back farther than an 07

See if you can find an etha. It was my first electronic and it is awesome. The only times it has messed up on me is when I needed a new battery or overlubed the new spring less poppet.
It has the emc you can add later to give it a more woods all feel as well. There are a few aftermarket "upgrades" showing up for it. Plus it is a PE gun so the support is awesome.

I'm assuming you like speedball only due to the ego, doesn't mean you don't play both though. Which is why I'm recommending a mini/tm7. I love the mini although I don't have one. I have a tm7 which is very similar internally but I play scenario and woodsball. Plus you can pick them up in the price range your looking for. My tm7 has never let me down and they offer respectable performance. I would assume a mini or axe is similar. Anyone who feels differently let me know cuz I'm looking into an axe.

i assume you just want a recball marker. if you want reliability and easy maintenance you can get a mech x7 phenom for that price. The only other thing is a phase 5 fitting for it.

When you go to the field again, ask a person who has a mini for adjustments or you could try to ask the field techs. It was how I got my axe to shoot really good. Attempt to adjust the trigger to, I used to have the mini and I hated the trigger.

Agree with these choices.

You can also just try out different guns at local shops and fields. See what feels good in your hands.
