Try looking into the Stevens 200. You can probably find a new one less than 300 and it's basically the same as the Savage 111/110. I think it would be better than the Axis.
You should be able to find an AR for a decent price in a few months. Once everyone realizes nothing will happen(I highly doubt an AWB ban will pass, maybe a magazine ban but not an AWB) then all of the people who "stocked up" will begin to realize they don't need what they have and will begin to sell. Manufacturers will begin to catch up as well.
Thanks on cat. It was pretty big. Probably 30ish pounds give or take a bit.

I didn't even think of the Stevens, that's definitely a better rifle.
Yeah, I'm just going to hold off on an AR. I need/want a truck more than anything right now. It's driving me crazy.

They didn't have any 22-250 and the only 204 was a Ruger Hawkeye.

I hear you. That's why I don't look around stores anymore. I buy stuff that I want and don't make a rational decision.
I'm ready to go hunting this weekend. Saturday I'm sighting in the 6.8, my Saiga, and my other AR15. Shouldn't take long to sight in the 6.8 but the other two may take longer as I have no clue where they will be shooting since it's irons. Hopefully I don't shoot much ammo.

Ya unless you are hunting moose in mountains while taking 600+ yard shots, 300 WM is a lot over kill. You will damage more meat than anything else .
