Got the parts back the other day, haven't fully assembled it since I haven't had the time, but i'm having an issue with the eye cover screw on the one side.

For some reason it won't seem to screw in more than a few turns and then it feels like it's stuck. I'm guessing the anno process screwed it up somehow. Probably just have to grind down the eye cover screw so I can get it to fit properly.

The anno looks sick though. Pictures coming soon

if so its dust inside the hole

yup, it's a dust black finish. i'll get some compressed air and clean it out. thanks for the suggestion

Nice, try to get a dust reg and a dust geardrive to make it a IOM

Im not a species owner but im very good friends with my local field owner. He asked me last week if I was interested in taking a species to a guy I know to have some anno done. I picked it up and this is what it looked like.




So after a few hours of work I was able to get it back to it's factory condition. the owner still wants to have it re anodized all black but I was still very proud of my work.I'll post more pics when it comes back from anno tomorrow

Got the species back today and I think it looks good all black but I like the factory anno better

Is that a gloss to dust fade?

Not really a fade but made the body and a few parts gloss and the rest flat. The body looks faded to the front because of the lighting but it's all gloss
