I had some velocity issues with my Etek3 so I cleaned the LPR. The spring had alot of grease on it so cleaned it and used the oil that comes with the marker. I didnt have any Eclipse gun grease that is recommended. Next time I shot it was fine and no high first shot velocity which is a sign of dirty LPR.

Question is will the oil do fine long term or do I need to get some grease. It says only put a little bit of grease on your fingers and rub the oring so I imagine it wont matter. And I wont put alot of wear and tear on my gun I only play one or two times a month.

You probably won't hurt anything...but get some grease.

What tonycon said. It shouldn't harm anything in the short term. But I would definitely recommend getting some Eclipse grease. Or at the least get some good quality DOW 33. You can get a 1/4oz jar off of Ebay for $4.48 shipped to your door. I personally carry a jar of it for spare in my Etek case right beside my Eclipse grease.

Oil can be used in small quantities for the LPR, but as everyone else has said, grease is preferred. In most cases I have found that velocity issues are best fixed by greasing the HPR more evenly.
