Getting back at 'er
Hey guys,
Been out of the scene for a few years now (Last I knew Smart Parts was around). I'm strictly woodsball and my buddy has an 80 acre cabin property with a course on it, hence why I'm getting back into it. Although I am strictly woodsball I'm not opposed to the occasional speedball or electro marker (I have owned an Ion in my lifetime). Anyways though I was just wondering what kinda gun I should be looking for.
I'm liking the idea of mag play and also air-thru stocks, but I also like laying down some paint occasionally. Light gear loads are ideal for my play as I'm not a big guy and hug everything I can but haul *** to my next hug. Any ideas boys and/or girls?

How are they for maintenance/modability? When I last played the Mini was just coming out and I was skeptical. Never even heard of the axe and Empire wasn't all too common around where I am.

The axe is the new ion. Base tournament gun for everyone. If you go out to your local field, wherever it is, TNT, Panther, Ambush, you'll see them.
Unfortunately, I don think thats what you're looking for.
Post a price range and Ill give you a better idea of what you can get.

TM7 if you're going for the tactical look while looking to lay down paint. It has mini internals in it.

Thanks for the help so far. I thought GoG was the new smart parts though? Or was that more of a metaphor? Never heard of the gun posted 1 up^ but I'll definitely look into it.
Range: 200-400 used
250-600 new
I'm in Canada so keep that in mind when quoting me out guns you guys down south get em cheaper by about $20-200

Alright good stuff. Looked into the TM7, I'm liking it. What loader would I wanna be looking for? Last I had was an egg, liked that a lot. I dont' wanna be dropping two hundred or anything close to that, closer to a hundred if possible.
Also, masks?

As far as loaders, you can't go wrong with an Invert Too. I probably wouldn't spend less than that.
Masks are a bit tricky. If at all possible, try them on in person and pick what is most comfortable. However, anything with thermal lenses and over 60 bucks should be fine (I like e-vents. i have a friend who loves his grillz).

Loader - Dye Rotor for sure. You can pick them up for dirt cheap now, less than $100.
Masks- Depends on your preference. Best bet is to go to a local field/shop and try some on. My personal favorite are the Empire Eflexes.

The Axe is more like the NXT then the Ion, aint nothing on the Axe plastic and it's better then base as a few tourney teams actually kicked *** with them last year in major tournaments. Nope, nothing like an Ion.

No they didn't, Kee Action Sports bought those patents. GoG "IS" the former Smart Parts. When SP filed bankruptcy, the patents were acquired by the bank and Kee/Empire scooped them up. If GoG still had the patents, their new guns would have had the same names as their predecessors.
