The Z2 is cheaper, but the shells arent as durable as the Rotors. Also, when the Rotor jams, it's usually on swolen paint, There is also an adjustment for the tension on the Rotor located inside, setting this to flush cured my jamming issues with the Rotor. I have seen two shells break on 2 different z2's, one had to be sanded to get it to fit together properly and one got shot on the back of the loader which needed a new board in order to fix it. The only other time my rotor jammed was a user error putting it back together incorrectly. My fault, not the rotors. Plus you can pick up rotors really cheap now used.

Rotor. Reliable, easy to maintain, never jam unless due to bad paint. And you can get them at a good price.

Rotor- Cheap used, last forever, easy to clean/maintain, low profile.

The Z2 was kind of a pain to get back together after taking it apart to clean.
I use a Seed kit on my rotor and never get jams.

I like the prophecy/z2. I'm sure the rotor is a great hopper but a lot of them jam. I've seen a lot of people grab for the fun repeatedly. I don't think you'll go wrong with either. I don't know what the people in here have seen but used rotors in good shape aren't cheap. You can't find one that is a V3 and in clean condition for under $100. If you want to look back to a V1 or V2 rotor prices may fall under $100, but you could also look for a V2 prophecy and spend $40-$50 on it. They are the best deal out there now. The rotor does have better shells but I haven't had much trouble with the prophecy's shells either.

you will make a good choice with either. They are both great loaders. The Rotor has a more durable shell, less working parts, easier to take apart, but it is also quite a bit heavier. The Z2 is really light for a hopper (one of the lightest), it feeds consistently, the anti-jam is a button (not a pull switch like on the rotor). I recently just traded my rotor for a z2 and I personally think the z2 is better looking. The z2 also has a lower profile. Whatever you buy will be a great choice

Have you used a spire? I'm thinking of ditching my spire for a rotor or a z2

I will never use a proph z2 again. I traded my rotor for one. Used the z2 for few days of play and traded for a rotor again. The z2 feels cheap to me. I never had it break so I can't say it is cheap just feels that way. Also, all these jamming troubles people talk about I have yet to see any rotors on our team jam. Make sure you have good batts and you should never have a problem with a rotor jam.

Ive been using a Z2 for over a year and have had zero problems with it. Its not fussy with paint so anything from field paint to tourney stuff will go thru it just fine. It has an auto unjam feature which is really nice. If my Z2 has ever jammed I havent noticed. There is no need to really ever break down the loader beyond taking off the front shell to swap out batteries or just wipe down the inside. Ive been using the same set of Energizer Lithium batteries for nearly a year and they are still going strong.
If you live in a humid area the Rotor may not be your best choice. I live in a sub tropical climate where its not uncommon to see someone with a Rotor having jamming issues. So take that into consideration as well.

I have used a rotor for a few years, no jams, I had a prophecy for a while, Rotor all the way, easier, faster, battery efficiency, durability, Ect.
