Trying to find a game for me and my son. How far of a drive is it from KC

Yep. Google maps says about 5 1/2 but it takes a little more than that. We used to have a pretty big contingent from the KC area.

I used to make the drive from Blue Springs in about 6 hours if you go through STL. We have a group from KC that drives down to Springfield and meets up with my group then we all drive east. Still about 6 hours.

Where is this in relation to Branson/Springfield area? How many players usually? Are there tanks /medics?

Camstan9, it is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours east on Highway 60. We make the trip twice a year and it isn't bad at all. There are occasionally tanks. Almost always medics (normaly 2-3 per team).

usually im not the type for scenario paintball, but this sounds really interesting and I hope to be part of it. Do players get to pick sides or are they assigned?

Have you ever gone to panzer attack? Asking to compare the field size and amount of players.. And how's the reffing? Past couple scenarios I've been at the refs have been rude and unfair, players were rough too

I was at Panzer Attack a few years ago. The Smak Zone field is bigger and there will probably be 100-200 people at OES. Reffing is pretty good - there is a dedicated team that makes up most of the staff. This field boasts probably the best players around in reference to sportsmanship. A lot of that comes from the owner not putting up with players that won't play by the rules. Most of them have been driven away. There may be fewer players here, but they are of higher quality.

You get to pick your side if you preregister. Try the game out, it is the best deal in the state. You get all this for paying the entry fee

Not much to add on what Kraus said really. I never force people to one side or the other and never split up people that come together. Check out the OES page HERE. There is a FAQ page and I think just about everything you could hope to know but feel free to ask if there is anything that isn't covered. mwm@smakzone.com or 573-714-5682. Oh, and there looks to be at least one tank this year. Medics are the norm too.

I managed to make it to the last Panzer Attack (though I didn't know it was going to be the last). We use about 140 acres now. I think Panzer was on about 80? Our terrain is definitely more challenging (hilly) and you will find a lot of nooks and crannies. There is a pic and video link area on the OES page as well.
