That is rather exspensive. Before the nonsense that stuff was like $9 a box. There should be no appreciable difference in wear to your rifle under normal use with steel cased ammo. It is no differen from Brown/Silver bear save for the case coating.

Well I decided to get that for some plinking and I got some Winchester silver tips for zeroing my scope in since that's what I'll be using to hunt with. At $14 a box it's the cheapest I can find around

Is there an actual makarov? Are they they the soviet and Bulgarian ones imported? What do they usually run? I've heard good things about Cz82's and PA-63's I just don't know the difference between all these "makarov's" they all look similar
Yessir. First impressions of the rail are good. Now to put it through Cokeman's stick test.
The scope is nice too. A bit on the heavier side but it's not bad. I think I'm going to like this a lot more than my Diamondback. May end up selling it and getting another Viper HS.
I'm sure some of you have seen this, but I still find the last two minutes hilarious.

Real Makarovs that you are the German, Bulgarian, Russian, and Chinese ones. The rest are chambered in the caliber but are different designs. The CZ vz.82 is probably the best of the 9x18mm pistols. FEG made a few, the PA63, AP9M and SMC-918 are a couple of them that you can find over here. The Polish had the P64 and P83. They are all pretty good pistols. You should be able to get any of these for under $300.

And here we have the problem. It is two idiots yelling at each other. Every time I see someone like him on TV defending gun rights I just keep thinking in my head, "Please, shut the **** up. Shut the **** up, shut the **** up."
All it does is make the average recreational shooter look like some radical fringe group who is out there trying to kill children, Congresswomen, the deer from Bambi and whatever else they can think of when in reality we're mostly just punching holes in paper and occasionally small to medium game animals.

I was at gander the other day and they had a P64 for $250 but the trigger pull was really bad in double action. There's a PA63 for $220 at the LGS and a Bulgarian for $320
Got lucky and scored 20 boxes of 50 rounds (1000 rounds/1 case) of Blazer CCI 9mm from Palmettostatarmory or w.e, sold out like 2 min after I checked out, but it turns out they take like literally a month or two to ship.
Fuk. I mean I'm not in any hurry but I was hoping to have it shipped in a timely fashion. Thankfully I still have a bit of 9mm, but I had to take up this good deal in the current market economy ($298.xx shipped for 20 boxes, brass of course)

I ordered something from PSA the night before the panic started and my package arrived ~2 weeks later so you will probably be waiting a while.
It seems like prices are starting to creep down though.

They are all going to have pretty terrible DA pulls. You can fix that with a $5 replacement mainspring from Wolff. My personal preference is the PA-63, but the P64 is a good pistol as well. You will want to change the recoil springs as well to help absorb some of the recoil. It is very stout in these little guns.
