That's an awesome deal for a VS1. but honestly for $20 more I would jump on the RS

Play paintball would be a start. As said, your not getting a "DEAL" when your going to spend the difference on making it RS.

What does a VS1 need to compete with the RS or any modified spyder? I'll give you the list

To start:

stage 1: Feedneck, Barrel and trigger. You can mod the trigger, but most people don't like the hump style:

Stage 2: Basic Low pressure: A new trinity VS front block, or a VS2/3 front block plus adapter. An inline regulator and new (macro is easiest), a spring kit that includes 1 light valve spring and a couple light medium striker springs to play with. (Optional) Mod the valve pin, order the current "2012+ Fenix" valve body and valve pin, or a RS or 08+ Electra "SE valve pin" These options allow for plug and play for best performance without true modification.

Stage 3: Upgrade to a great valve, Balance valve(needs the striker and short spring), or AKA Tornado valve or madman rocket valve. All 3 of these are touchy valves that require patience to tune them in correctly, plus you need Stage 2 at the very least.

Bonus: In no order, but rather as you see fit. Bolt, Board, and on/off ASA.
