G6R vlocity issues! Please help me...
Got it back today from Tim, went to chrono and had major issues. So i put my tester on it when it arrived, HPR said 150 and LPR said 135 on BRAN new ashcroft gauges. But the LPR was adjusting down when i turned on it. So i went to my local field to use there testers, best guess is my tester is bad? Like i said new gauges so maybe the tester itself? Is that a thing????
Slapped it on, set the HPR to 180(thats were it already was) and the LPR to 60-65psi. Went to chrono and it was shooting like 200-220. Adjusted the HPR nearly all the way up and got 240-250.
Went back in, set it HPR to 180 again and LPR to 80. Went to chrono shooting 225ish, got it up to chrono but pretty inconsistent. Was shooting 270-290, when i went to check what the HPR was at it was 270ish. Whats going on here? Im hoping to use it tomorrow and have no idea what to do lol
What ranges should i stay within? My QC card says 180/65, so what limits should i be withing?
EDIT: Just checked my dwell, its was at 9. I set it back to 6, that wouldnt cause any vlocity issues would it?
Also check battery, its a duracell and still has 8.4Vs so its decently fresh

Well i got my tester functioning properly, set screws needed to be re-sealed. And it has the good gauges so im hoping for better reading tomorrow.
Talked with tim and they said they left my stuff low intentionally, gave me some pressures (195/70) If thats not at chrono ill try sweet spotting.
I replaced my poppet with the LP one and changed both ram orings

Sweet spotting your regs is the best route for every individual marker as they will differ slightly.
Also keep in mind that various factors can effect your marker from place to place, such as elevation and humidity. So when it was tested in one place then aired up in a different climate it can change. Whenever I travel to play I double check it and adjust as needed.

Ok got her running, set pressures to 185/60 and was shooting 285. But i was +/- 10-15 at some points in my grouping. Whats the best tunning method for good consistency?
Also i tryed a few differnt pressures and noticed my gun seem to be smoother @ 170ish/70 vs 185/60. Now im not real sure how the LPR functions in a poppet of this type. Why would a higher LPR give me a smoother shot???? Im coming over from a matrix so for my m8 lowest LPR possible was smoothest, hows a balanced stacked poppet differ?
Tim told me to set it back to 70 for the LPR, just wanna know the science behind why higher is smoother.
-- I also wanna give a thanks to tim2thousand4, he was VERY quick to answer my questions and make sure i got it working properly. Good guy, stands behind his work

Definitely put the LPR at 70 for now.
And if you can throw that hpr to 190, I think you'll be fine.

Ill try that but i believe ill be shooting a lil hot with my underbore. Is it fine to set @ 190/70 then drop HPR to field velocity? Also picking up a TechT Hush bolt next weekend, which supposedly allows you to drop ure HPR a bit as well.

If your paying retail
And from what ive read people liked the hush bolt? Credible reviews said it quietens the gun(maybe just a tad or w/e but still) and he was able to drop his HPR pressure. How is that a downgrade? Now youve got me wanting to read every hush thread on here

Maybe I was being harsh, but just not worth it. Inconsistent and is the sound signature even noticeable? I guess if you get one cheap enough its worth a shot.
Idk... if you count Tim's Post up there ^^^, thats two techs advising against is that I know of.

I have shot and tuned g6r's with stock, old pillow, new pillow, and hush. I think that the hush is a side-grade to down-grade in some cases because you have to do the strange oring tuning with it.

i had the same problem and it was VERY VERY simple to fix. i was using dow 33 lube instead of 55, thats it. if you are using anything except 55 you will have velocity issues

Only reason i was considering hush bolt was i could get one for 20-25bucks, but after reading some more into it im just going to get the pillow bolt with regular pin. Its only 40bux then do techt low pro pin. So $50 instead of $100 lol

No im only using 55 lol
But it was the wacky stock gauges on the shops testers. With my tester i got it shooting much better, has ashcoft gauges. Was like +/- 12-15, going to try 190/70 again but keep turning the HPR down till i hit field vlocity. Ill post results
