I stuck between getting a reflex and empire axe. Which is better ? Tell me what you think. They are both about the same price.

I have both and you can't really go wrong with either.

Pros of Reflex (2012):
Eye-pipe - if you get chop (rare) there is a pipe that should clean itself as you play. Keeps the eyes protected from paint.
Awesome Ergonomics
Reliable
Lighter than the axe
Spoolie so it shoots super soft -not a whole lot of felt recoil
Quiet
Shares many of the same parts as the DM
Hyper 3 reg - arguably one of the best regs out there today
Pretty good factory trigger
Factory 14" two piece barrel, which is pretty decent
Nice case

Cons:
Back cap can come unscrewed leading to pressure loss if you don't tighten it every once in a while.
Little heavier\temperamental on maintenance - I do clean/re-lube after every day of play regardless of marker, so doesn't bother me. But it's easier to over lube this gun and get bolt stick/inconsistent FPS
Less efficient than that Axe



Axe
Pros:
Tool-less disassembly
Reliable
Lifetime warranty
Great factory trigger - one of my favorites
Also pretty quiet, almost a toss up between it and the reflex - add a boss/lurker/etc bolt and run at lower pressure and it's probably quieter
Awesome flip switch on/off ASA
No macro-line

Cons:
No eye pipe - not a huge deal, but having one is nice - cleaning the eyes is a little more involved - but chops are rare - so I wouldn't weigh this too heavily against the axe, but the reflex DOES have an eye pipe.
Factory barrel - it shoots fine, but only 12", I prefer 14"
Factory box - for the price I would have really like a nice case to carry it in, instead of a box.
Non-user servicable reg - while you CAN work on it, it's nowhere near as easy as the hyper 3 reg, and it it will void the warranty
Ergonomics - hesitant to put this here, they aren't BAD by any means, just not as good as the reflex, the banana foregrip takes a little getting used to



Both guns are extremely common so it shouldn't be hard to find someone at a field who can help you out if your gun goes down. If you can go out and shoot each to see how it feels that'd probably be the best thing. You really can't go wrong with either gun. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I love my 2011 Reflex Rail, it is extremely comfortable and shoots great.

I have both. While a case is nice, it's not needed. But if you just weekend ball, reflex.

Judging from that pic Pushc6, I'm gonna take a guess that you prefer your Reflex, because of the hopper, barrel, tank choice you used from one to the next.
Personally, I prefer the Reflex. I have a 2011 model, and other than switching to the Ironmen Blade trigger I loved it right outta the box. I was aprensive about buying a line of marker first year it was made, but tried one before buying at a local field and fell in love with it. A friend of mine has an Axe, and it's nice but in my opinion not AS nice... Same feelings compared to my Nephew's Etha. Either way, Pushc6 is right in the respect that if you have a way to test fire both and compare for yourself... That's the most important than what we all think here. Either way you go, hope you enjoy your new marker.

I tried out a reflex today, and it was disappointing I really wanted to buy one but from the experience I had I'm not too sure. I chopped paint a few times, although I was using 5 month old paint and to be honest it felt almost exactly like my cheap Fenix. I still want to buy it though but not sure now ):

if you were chopping paint in a 2012 reflex, try an axe with the same paint. you will want that reflex. axes don't like old brittle paint.

Funny I was firing an 09 Pilot and my Reflex Rail with the same paint last week and the Reflex has a slight upward bob of the barrel when you start your rope and that's about it. The Pilot was like a paint shaker with a trigger frame in comparison.

You sure your reg isn't turned up too much. Unfortunately I find with a lot of spoolies people have a nasty habit of gumming them up with too much lube or old paint and then when their FPS drops they turn up their HPR. Clean off the bolt assembly and just use a touch of lube on the orings and it should shoot real purty.

Just putting this out there, my friend who owns an axe has had major issues with his axe (he maintains it constantly). Now here's two things, the axe, if it has an issue it's a major issue, his reg blew out. However KEE literally was like "here's a new axe, bro"
So if the axe ever does fail, it's big, but know that KEE has your back.
