Stripped :foul:

Hey guys I ran into a problem last night. I have an old DM5 in addition to the DM11 I run as my main setup. Last night I took it all apart to clean every nook and cranny, to lube every o-ring....you know the basic OCD stuff a lot of old school ballers do. Well during reassembly I found that the rear solenoid screw hole was stripped because the screw would not tighten up. Anyone that has owned one of these things knows how small these screws are. I do not feel like I have a steady enough hand to retap this hole. Anyone ever run into this before on the older DM's and what ideas can you provide? I have a call in to Dye but I can imagine that the labor rate to fix this may be 1/2 of what the marker is worth or more. Thanks

look up the thread pitch and go on McMaster.com to find longer screws hoping that there are still some threads left to catch on.

Does not look like there is any thread left in the hole. I spoke to a Dye Tech today and they are willing to try to fix it. Cheaper than I expected but if it doesnt work out I guess I will just part it out.
