My OTA 6.1 upgraded 5 JB'd just fine.

I upgraded to 6.1 over wifi at 11:30 EST then jail broke 30 minutes later when it dropped. You should be fine.

The only problem I had during the process was getting the evasi0n download to start in the beginning. Google kept saying the site was maxed out. Just kept refreshing until it started downloading. JB took 5-10 minutes. All the repos I've added have brought some form of error back, and every package I've attempted to download hasn't worked. Probably because everything on cydia is for the smaller screens, or for iOS 5.1.1 and lower. I'm sure next week we'll start seeing updates for the tweaks and stuff were wanting.

In short, if your on iOS 6 or an iPhone 5 your really not missing to much right now. Everything is bogged down, or not supported.

I figure I might as well jailbreak, but when I rooted my droid x years ago I barely used anything that rooting allowed.

My iPad is jailbroken, but I didn't know it was illegal someone mentioned it yesterday. Anyhow, I don't see advantages in jailbreaking my iPad. I'll probably update to 6.1 and restore... and leave it as that.

Why, what's going on?

I just jailbroke my Verizon Iphone 4 and it looks like it worked without an issue. This is my first jailbreak, so I was surprised at how easy it was. Just waiting on my data to resync.

i'm just trolling.

right now the program said jailbreak was complete. my screen is currently white with the logo and it says "patching kernel.." and its been at this for a few minutes. time to go grab some mcdonalds and hopefully its all done by the time i'm back

Yea that part will take a few minutes. I thought mine might have been stuck, but I went and read a Cracked article and it had moved on by the time I'd finished.

Do you use the JB for iPad to get Themes primarily?

I think sinful is down right now, every time I open cydia it gives me an error when it gets to sinful. I used the ihack or xsellize repos for the few tweaks I have.

Finally got dashboard X loaded and got my widgets back. For the packages and tweaks with multiple downloads, you basically just let one part download and then let it time out, then when you go back in to install it installs the next part. That's the only way I've been able to fully download anything.

I think I'm going to play with auros when I start theming. They already have a good repository of icons that users made. I think I have a few modded widgets that will go well with this theme. If you keep it stock, change the wallpaper to something simple, and update a few icons from their repository, it can look very clean.

I think so... more so than on the iPhone. Might keep it stock though. My iPhone keeps me busy enough as far as messing with source and modding. I don't much on my iPad besides web surfing, games, and email.
