Which lube is better? Dye Slick or this?

Should I get this:

http://www.amazon.com/Dye-Slick-Lube...ords=dye+slick

Or this:

http://www.amazon.com/Dow-Corning-Mo...eywords=dow+33

Again... Dow 33 is 5.3 Oz, way better value than Dye product. Best bang for buck?

Sure

Such a big jar can be parted out with team mates ( each one gives a few dollars ), in the end it costs nothing

You can also get a small jar of it for very cheap from the macrolineguy

I'm a big fan of the stock DOW33 grease that comes with the DM in the box. Really cannot argue with the flawless performance it has provided me over 60 cases through my gun.

Just remember to use a very very very fine amount - you really shouldn't see lumps of white grease.

If DYE would make a larger tube/jar I'd probably buy it just to have... those stupid little tubes are annoying.

I use slick honey in everything except Bob long guns/regs. Honey was used in all my hpa reg rebuilds too.
I mixed some PTFE pb oil in my tub of honey to thin it back in 2005.

We can argue over what is best for the bolt all day, but DO NOT use Slick Honey or any petroleum-based grease on your tank regulators, or any grease you have mixed with oil. Flammable chemicals mixed with oxygen/air that is compressed and heated to high temps can cause an explosion.

Even if the product you are using is not very flammable, it isn't worth the risk. Use an approved grease for your tank, like Dow 111 silicone.

You mean Dow 33? Not 111?

For the tank, I mean 111.

For the gun I use 33.

Talked to ninja and guerilla air. Both said on the reg piston and oring honey was fine, but not to get it anywhere near the fill nipple or 4500psi side. They said the hpa regs blowing up was usually from people putting drops of oil in the naughty parts before a fill.

It usually is from oil in the fill nipple. Grease on the piston is unlikely to cause a problem, but when it comes to serious safety issues like a combustible mixture at 4500psi, 999 times out of 1000 is not good enough for me.

My understanding is on that side of the hpa reg is limited to the 1.8 k burst disk therefore not susceptible to the dieseling problem. This is also why the bonnet is sealed by a simple oring and a couple grub screws on most newer tanks.

Better safe than sorry is far better in the new player slap a gob of lube on everything world, so I understand what your saying and would give the same advice.

i do not recommend using anything other than the dye slick lube or dow33 which is basicly dow33 but slightly different, Dye tests there guns with dye slick lube and they do not test it with any other. you could run into bolt stick, oring swell or improper seals.
