Stand, canopy, lights, sump, and the tank obviously.
They've got an AWESOME 180 or 210 in their entrance for sale. No price on it though.
If you're ever in the Ft. Meade area, its House of Tropicals, and they have fish for seemingly ever. There wasn't anything that I couldn't find there.
Things seem kinda expensive, but in GA, things are a lot cheaper.

Damn, I'll have to check them out next time I'm in the area. I went to 2 specialty stores today. Coolest thing I saw was a large (18"+) honeycomb morray eel. Everything else was meh. Lots and lots and lots of tetras.
The fish bowl (my local specialty shop) has a fantastic selection of some of the healthiest fish I've seen. My Bichirs were taking blood worms the very same day I brought them home.

That's a nice tank
The ONLY reason I want to go bigger is so my black ghost will have plenty of room...to hide in his ****ing log
He has started to come out at night to hand feed. He gets real excited when I turn the lights off and grab the blood worms.
Then again...everybody in the tank does. Blood worms are like meth and I've been pushing shrimp methadone for quite some time.

A good fish keeping site.
Lots of cool projects over there.
JC Nor, while that is a nice tank the stand might not be as functional as you'd like for a canister filter or sump. Being that the area with the doors is pretty short.
I'd recommend going with a different stand if you were going to go that route (getting a canister or sump.)

I wish I had a better tank selection closer to me. The local specialty store (not petco or petsmart) can order/deliver tanks and stands but it seems excessively expensive. They did have a really nice 125 for $500 in store. It was too narrow for my goals, but it would work.
What's your favorite fish (directed to everyone)?

I had a pair of electric blue jack dempseys before I came on this TDY, those were awesome fish, but I had to give them up.

Jack Dempseys are really cool, I love watching them at the store.
I've never seen mandarin gobys, I'll check them out.
As far as usefulness, these emerald corys are awesome. Personality goes to my Bichirs. They are so much fun to watch.

Not so much the oscar as the geophagus. But he's picks up rocks and eats the algae around them, then spits them back out as a snack.
On another note, I really do like my Oscar. He's such a character and he's gotten about 5x the original size as when I bought him.

My wife's W2 finally got here, so I'm going to finally get my taxes done
Depending on the refund, we may go saltwater for our largest tank.
Trigger fish are beautiful, but I've never had the chance to see one outside of a store. I'm still entranced by the honeycomb morray I saw. It was incredible.

I'd love to do saltwater, its just so expensive so I'll stick with fresh for now.

Agreed. I would love the color of saltwater tanks, but I'll cope with freshwater.

If that's the case, I'll probably grab the 75 gallon and buy a separate stand. So are power filters frowned upon?

I'm saying, I would look at a different stand than that one if you're set on that size tank.
I'm unsure of what you mean by "power filter." If you're speaking of hang on the back types, you can make it work, they just don't have the (imo) room for the proper amount of bio filtration a tank of that size needs. However, they do provide a nice bit of mechanical filtration. All that being said, once my 75Gal gets set up I'll be running an AC110 and a Penn Plax cascade 1500 on a moderately stocked tank.

well. here's where my logic comes from. the tank and stand are sold as a unit at petsmart, so you can't deviate from that. therefore i figured if the stand is garbage to begin with, i'll just save $62 and get the 75 gallon and buy a stand later down the road once i have enough money for everything i need to get it up and cycled.
i don't think i'd ever go larger then a 75 gallon unless i owned my own house.
and when i said power filter, yes, "hang on the back" filters is what i was referencing.

I will say I'm incredibly lucky in the military. I live in a rather large house and have wonderful space for aquariums. It's also a slab foundation, so my weight limit is pretty high. I can put a 2 ton tank down there no problem since it's just concrete essentially.
It leaves my choices wide open
I would love a 72"x32"x30" tank that wasn't custom made and obnoxiously expensive.

if i had my own place, i'd probably get a nice 125-150 gallon installed into a wall mount.

I'd love to wall mount, and we are actually allowed to. However, I like being able to see the sides of my tank. When I design the interior I make sure to leave each side visually appealing.
I'm glad I found this thread, you guys are cool
