Help!!!
I am currently deployed and my wife is taking care of our 1 year old Lab by herself.
She boarded our dog at a well trusted and nice boarding facility in our town when she went home for Christmas. After she returned she took him to PetCo for some grooming a few days later. There he tried attacking the groomers and her when she showed up to get him. He has never ever been aggressive in the slightest. I am thinking that something happened at the boarders. He is now showing dominant behavior towards my wife.
My question is what can we do to revert this behavior? We have a trainer for obedience, and our dog has gone back on all of his training after doing so good.

tell your wife to start watching the dog whisperer and to read up on how to work with dogs like this. Something probably did happen.

Um, no. Ceasar Milan's methods are more apt to make your dog more aggressive.
Putting him down is about as high on my list of suggestion as watching The Dog Whisperer.
It could be that something happened at the boarding kennel, but I'm thinking there were signs before Christmas. At a year old, he's reached or is reaching sexual maturity. I'm betting he "challenged" your wife before that (not wanting to do something, putting on the brakes, "mouthing off", etc), and your wife "gave in". And now things have escalated. My suggestion, look into the "Nothing In Life Is Free (NILIF) training methods. http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm Since he's been through training, I think it's time for "boot camp". In other words, time to go back to training classes. Actually, the fact that he's "regressed" just solidifys my thoughts that he's challenging "authority". Not knowing how "dog savvy" you & your wife are, but "John Q Public" doesn't realize that training doesn't end at the completion of a 6 or 8 week class. It is on going for the dog's entire life. Not saying you have to continue taking classes all that time, but you do have to keep up with what was learned/taught. Also- has he been neutered yet? Although, it's recommended now to wait until dogs are at least 18 months old, having it done now would be a good idea, given the circumstances.

Vet determined that he had a serious chemical imbalance and/or a tumor. In the last week he started peeing in the house which he hasnt done in over a year and after attacking my wife again last night. She had no choice but to have him put down. I will miss him so much.
