Good advice from a successful individual.
Anyway, as stated..... swimming and exercises that use your own body weight (think push ups, dips, pull ups, stuff you don't need much equipment or even a designated area, explosive exercises) will help you in ways you can't even fathom. Hell, even stretching everyday as someone else mentioned will help you.
I have messed up hips, neck, back, knees from a work injury (crushed). Stretches, swimming, and body weight exercises have improved me greatly.
