Skirmish - Jim Thorpe, Pa
Anyone ever play there? I found this advertisement in Philly while on business. Thinking about going up for a situational game.

Go on 1/2 price paint days and you'll be good to go. That's what i do and stock up to play on non 1/2 price paint days. I never pay $100 for a case. LOL

Is this place open during the week? I drive up to Wilksberre a couple of times a year and might try to pass by during half price paint to play at I.O.N.

Not,, its 99 a case, if you buy 5 cases its 85, so if you go with a group and go thru a good amount its not bad.. If you get 12 its 74 a case.. They have some of the best fields and top notch refs.. The paint is more but everywhere up here is up over 80 a case so its kinda worth it for everything else.. If you go on a special event like 1/2 price paint day its cheap..

Went there a few times not in my honest opinion not worth the money why play the days you play around their schedule of 1/2 price days when there are other fields in pa that are cheaper and you can just as good of time at they may not have the vast variety of field that skirmish does but when I went with a group a while back we played on 8 fields all day most were bare woods with a few scattered bunkers and the fields that the group requested were "unavailable" even though we walked right by them and no one was on them. Don't get me wrong skirmish is great for large events but that's about it in my mind.

I was a skirmish die hard, and then I went to EMR once, vowed I'd never go to skirmish again. Do the owners of skirmish come out and play the game with you? The two fields are night and day. Seriously, come to any EMR game, and you'll have a blast

Only problem is at this point EMR is either scheduled days, or pre appointed groups. You can't really just show up like you can at skirmish. At least that's how it was the last time I went on an open play day.

yeah, event dates, private groups or open play days. good thing about open play though is paint is cheaper and imo its the best time to play.
skirmish just has a prime location, get all the city people thats why theres always someone there to play

Still unreal prices....My local place sells Marballizer 60 a case. Unless it is evil paint, I would rather toss my money out the window then support robbery.

I was watching some videos on I.O.N and I noticed some paint was blue, some was green, and other kids had yellow or orange breaks on them.
I think people BYOP and sneak it in for I.O.N. because it was so many different shells and break colors. Unless they have 3 or 4 different paintball brands they play.

They allow any paint you bought from them to be used as long as it is skirmish stamped

They have more than one type of paint for I.O.N. But people still do sneak paint in, yea. Skirmish has their name stamped all over the shell of the paint though, so that's how you know it is theirs. Saw a kid get caught using non-field paint one year at I.O.N, ref made him pour it all out and stomp on it haha. I.O.N. is the only time I will go up to Skirmish because it's so expensive and that's the best event of the year there, and one of the best in the world, but the paint is just too expensive, and it's not even special paint, most of the time dimpled too. Huge ripoff. But you also get to see the premiere of a lot of company's new gear there too, which is pretty cool.

Well the discussion of paint prices at Skirmish have been discussed many times before on this site. I am sure they are better places to play and have better prices. I only do the big events because I am a tanker. We can use any wheres from 6-8 cases of paint over a weekend like ION. So multiply those costs not counting all the others. It can be a very expensive trip. Sometimes I get some perks to help out on the cost. But this is a hobby and sometimes if you want to play with the big boys you are going to pay so prepare for it. Try finding a place to play that can have thousands to contend with in all respects. That extra money you pay for a case of paint is for the field and all it has to offer. Its better to play there then it use to be.
