You don't like midgets?
Two of my local tracks just went nascar sanctioned, so they are supposed to get some nascar touring series races this year. should be pretty cool, most of the local short track racing has dried up infavor of demo derby trash. We even lost one of the best short tracks in the country USA speedway, got bulldozed last year.
I guess they are having Midgets at New Symrna during speedweeks might go over and check it out if we arn't racing the mustang.

I like dirt tracks. Those are fun to watch. There used to be a really good one like 45 minutes from me but it was also bulldozed for a school.

I go to watkins glen. Its fun as its not just a show up watch the race and leave, theres alot to do there. I used to go to Las Vegas before I moved and while vegas had some good racing it doesn't have the atmosphere that the glen has.
However I have to agree that local dirt tracks have some fantastic racing

Well around here midgets aren't that big, so I haven't really seen much of the midgets, but I grew up watching Mods and Lates around here since i was like 6.

The drivers at the weekly shows or good touring ones are hungry.... They are trying to prove themselves and get noticed... they are not some mid 40's guy riding around on sunday clicking off laps to fill his jet with fuel and pad is bank account...I dont care who's driving the cars when I watch most races..truth is I'd prefer not to know... as long as the shows great... Im sure me and the guys will head to New Smyrna one night or Volusia since we have friends racing at both... Im not sure if the winged sprint cars still run New Smyrna but the only time Ive seen them there was a race I will never forget

It will always be the Bud Shootout. Just as it will always be Winston Cup, and the Pepsi 400, etc, etc, etc.

The "No Bull" races were exciting... closest thing now is the Nationwide dash for cash... its only a 100 grand but still feels good to win one...

Didn't Ronald Reagan call in from Air Force One and told them to start their engines at the Firefracker 400?
I remember one president doing it but I'm not sure if it was him and if it was at Daytona.

Nah, he made the race and ended up in the booth during the race, but I think AF1 landed at Daytona International and theres a phenomenal picture of Petty cruising down the back stretch as the plane is landing.

This superbowl is gonna be lame without the Failcons and I can only laugh at the Lakers so much. NASCAR needs to hurry up and get here.

Speed weeks starting soon, saw a modified on a trailer heading to the Atlantic coast with a big forsale sign on it. Not a lot of modified racing down here mostly late models so it is always neat to see one.
