Cold affecting batteries in Rotor???
So, played some ball yesterday in 25 degree weather. Was running my pm8 with 7th element oled bd, and 7th element Bluetooth bd for my rotor.
Put new batteries in, oled indicated hopper batteries were good, but then would shoot one ball, and batteries would show very low for the hopper. Imagine the gas tank gauge in ur car going from full to empty with one press of the gas pedal.
Battery in gun was new, and reading perfectly. Then hopper would stop feeding balls into hopper, after the first trigger pull...
Any thoughts?

What brand of batteries? I haven't had any issues with Duracell or Energizer in my Spire in -20, so I'd assume that your batteries could be an issue.

Ares, that's the weird thing, Duracell. It's all I play with, having grown up in cold weather, I'm familiar with the effects of the cold.
I'm totally baffled by it. Never had this problem. Maybe the board had an issue with cold weather? I know that sounds retarded as a question, but I'm totally confused about this one...

Mason, I would be surprised if your board had an issue but you might as well try testing it. Try setting your gun and hopper outside (hopper without batteries) to let it cool down to the temperatures and take your indoor temp batteries and put them in to test if it's your hopper batteries, then do it with your marker batteries, then leave your hopper outside and let your marker warm up, then leave your marker outside and let your hopper warm up.

No way! Does water freeze when it's cold too?

Next time, keep the batteries in your pockets until you're almost ready to use.
Also, at those temperatures, you gotta be careful about condensation corroding terminals or even worse, causing shorts.

I've got the 7th element board in my rotor as well, it seems to require more power than the stock board. This makes sense with the additional draw for the bluetooth. The same 3 AAs that ran the loader before I switched boards, which ran the stock board just fine, were reading low and the loader wouldn't function properly. Put them into my 2nd rotor, with the stock board, and it would function just fine. You just can't expect to get as many cases out of the rotor with the new board.
