They have been out of production for a while, so while there are no doubt some new ones out there, they'll be hard to find other than by luck. They turn up on eBay from time to time. Best bet would be second hand - again, there's eBay, or you can try the trading forums here.

what star frames fit the etek 1 and is anyone selling one

The only STAR frame that will fit the Etekl without any modification is the Etek STAR frame.

As for finding a used one, you need to look in the BST forums, or post in the Want To Buy forum.

What exactly does the star frame consist of? I know it makes the Etek look more like an Ego and I know that i has an LCD screen on it. But what else does it do for the Etek?

A frame (like ego 7/8), a board, a trigger and slim grips.

Does the star frame take an ego 8 trigger or ego 7 trigger? Im interested in installing a violent trigger if it makes a difference.

The STAR frame also comes with a QEV, and the frame is obviously milled to allow you to fit and use this. You also get a length of LP hose so that you can renew your hoses while installing the QEV.

The Ego8 style board brings you all the features that you would have on an Ego8 - preset tournament modes, more adjustments, uncapped ramping, rate of fire counters, game timer, shot counter, the ability to save your settings, microswitch or optical trigger activation, etc.

The trigger incorporates roller bearings, magnetic return, and a firing point adjustment for the microswitch.

Any place i could buy? And is the etek 3/4 frame to small/big for a etek 1 because om not a huge fan of the etek 1 frame.

etek 3/4 frames are completely diff from the 1/2. the Star Frame if im not mistaken fits both 1/2. As for the 3/4 your only option is between the LT which would be made of some form of composite, and the AM which would then be aluminum i believe.....

if you have a etek 1 then you need to search high and low for a star frame.....makes ALL the diff!

Ok this is for everyone who don't know. They have been out of production and discontinued for quite some time now. The only way you will find them is them turning up for sale here or various other paintball/BST websites, find someone willing to part theirs off of Eteks, buy an Etek with a Star frame, or get extra lucky and find a company/field/store/person with new old stock ones. To give everyone an idea of how difficult it can be to get them, it took me over a year to find one. But for all you who are truly interested in getting one I personally know where two are. One in excellent condition and the other would be a good candidate to get anodized. Before the flooding of my inbox commences, I will say this one time only. Money talks and we all know what the other does.
