Quick question, can the stock frame be anodized? I've read that it's a cheap pot metal instead of actual aluminum, but I wanted a little clarity. Some of the threads on here talk about it, but there isn't a whole lot of information or pictures of it being done

The frame is aluminum, but may not be high-grade, 6061 aluminum and unable to be annodized correctly. I'm guessing this is why SP went with a powdercoat instead of anno. Since it's aluminum, you should be able to annodize it, but it may not come out the same as 6061 aluminum.

I've seen it done and I wouldn't. Finish and color was garbage.

True dat. I stripped the powdercoat off one, and it reminds me of particle board but with aluminum - just a guess, but the anno'd color would probably look blotchy. Looks nice after a good buff & polish, though, if you want to keep it raw. My raw frame looks decent. But now you can see where they "cut corners" when milling the frame - lots of machining guidelines & unrefined edges.
