Hey guys. I bought my son a Spyder Fenix marker last weekend. He used it for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it. I shot it a few times as well and it felt nice.

Anyway, I have a quick questions. On my Dangerous G5, it has a compression release handle which makes unscrewing the HPA tank very easy. It's very difficult to unscrew the HPA tank off of the Fenix. Is there a pressure release mechanism that I'm not locating or a simple trick to release the pressure prior to unscrewing the HPA tank?

The spyder fenix does not have an on/off ASA.

Either:
Try not to screw the tank in too tight, just enough so it doesn't leak.
Replace the ASA with one with an ON/OFF.
Or use a remote line with a slidecheck.

I replaced mine with a CP on/off ASA. I gave up blowing up o-rings.

When attaching the air source be aware of what position the valve of the tank opens and pressurizes the gun. A quarter to half turn past this point is where you want it to be for use. When you're ready to remove the tank, unscrew it just past the point where the valve opened (so the tank valve shuts) and dry fire in a safe direction until there is no pressure left in the marker. Your tank should unscrew from the ASA almost effortlessly now.

Note: it should take fewer than 15 shots to de-pressurize the marker. If you've hit 15 and there is still pressure in the gun you need to unscrew the tank more. If you own the gear, a paint pen mark on the side of the tank makes a fantastic reference point.
