Im gonna just throw this out there.
First of all, ill add this disclaimer that this is just me thinking this and im just a person not an PB economist so I DONT KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. So if this rubs people the wrong way this really is not my intention.
I want nothing more than to have the tourney paintball scene in the state of LA be better. I think anyone that knows me and the work I have put into the Tourney scene for the last 3 years I have lived here would not disagree. I would love to see 50 active teams in this state instead of like what we have which Im sure isn't more then maybe 7 or 8 active teams. But I don't think cramming two series in the same area is a good way to build the tourney scene. Hell, you guys are like less then 25 miles away. Overlapping series will just negatively affect the other. And this is coming from a team that had routinely done 3 tourneys a month. I just think the bi-product of having too many events for an area just hurts the scene. because say you have 7 teams in the area that could attend both events. 3 teams sign up for tourney A and 4 teams to tourney B and now both events get cancelled because they don't get enough teams. Now loosely formed teams that need structured events start to fall apart because their series is falling apart. Would it kill you guys to share a league? SplatZone Jess has a new, really nice looking field up there, and OFFlimits also has great fields and they know how to run tourney series. Would it kill you guys to try to work something out so your events dont cancel each other out and then no one wins?
Im sure the SBPL could be something that could work. But having 8 events with some of them only 3 weeks apart is unsustainable. The LAPL is a good series but just about hanging on. Im sure something great could be developed if both Splat and OFF could put something together and share fields and events. With what OFF knows about running events and Splats most current and up to date fields I feel this could benefit both the field owners and the players.
