Does the dm5 have a manifold under the noid? Or does the noid just attach to the body without anything under it except the gasket?

Mounts directly to the body with just a gasket. Pre-DM4 Matrix models used a manifold.

Is there supposed to be anything in the indented part I circled in red? Part of the solenoid covers that indenture when I mount it on the body, so I dont see how it could create a seal if the entire gasket isnt pressed to the body because some of it goes over the indent.

The recessed milling is necessary for the solenoid to vent, it isn't meant to seal over those areas.
