Let me know if you ever race up this way. We have off shore races here in town every year. Whole town shuts down and turns into a huge party.

Did you get the sweater, scarf, and horn-tipped glasses pack to go with your hipster computer? Can't forget a low end professional DSLR and a latte.

We run strictly 1/4 mile only off shore race we have is in red bluff CA. That I know of salt water gives us a hard bite and will make the boat crash itself and cause serious consequences if boat is not changed to a salt sAltwater setup.
We're running right around 5.00 seconds at 200-180 mph

Hipsters don't use DSLRs they use their iPhone and instagram because it's totally better than a real DSLR

That's intense. It's all fresh water up here, I don't know anything really about boat racing. They have hydroplane races among other boat classes up here.

They all use canon rebels up here and act like they are a ****ing professional because of a $600 camera.

It's still going? I figured it would be over with today now that it's dark. Those snowcross races look brutal; I think i'd be torn up after only a few laps.

I think that only comes after you pass the test, which comes after you get rid of all Windoze based products...

I'm trying to relate this to 1/4 mile land racing (what I'm into) and I realize that acceleration and other things will different between land and water, but I'm used to 5.00 second and 190ish MPH being closer to 1/8 mile times (though that MPH would be high in land drag racing for 1/8 mile). 1/4 mile 5.00 second ETs on land would be closer to 300 MPH speeds.
Do you get short times measured (60' times)? For that ET and MPH the short times must be like half to 3/4 of a second.

Ok let me rephrase this we technically run 1000ft course in are class and top fuel now do to certaint courses not having the required shut down length at a 1/4 mile we were running 5.50-5.80 now at a 1000ft were running 4.90-5.20. I understand how you wouldn't be able to translate it we can't either are fastest top fuel run (this is class right above us)mph is 263 but the ET is 3.53. all we have touching the water is two points near front and half of the prop the rest is air just throwing it across the water.
It's also a 565 cu in Brad Anderson Hemi making close to 3200 hp mostly making boost in high gear due to being a Teflon stripped supercharger vs. a screw style supercharger which makes max boost instantly allows us to save parts since its family run and don't have big sponsors to buy us multiple motors/gears/props/etc.
