Clone Gt problems with smoothness and kick problem
Well I love my GT to say the first. The problem I am having is I have a lot of kick, and my consistency numbers R all over the place. I had to put my dwell to 14 in order to tighten numbers and was still +-5/7 and I always under bore, and yesterday paint was .680-.688 which is pretty compared to how bad paint has been. But I was using my .675 which is the one I always use. And I was getting so much kick and was getting barrel chops like crazy. So I switched to a .685 and my kick kind I got better and even my consistency got better.
My clone has like 10-12 cases trough it. I did relube my reg, fresh battery, stock settings minus the dwell upped to 14, my tester is saying it is at 108-110 when dwell at 12 and when at dwell 14 I get right by a hundred.
What can I do to smooth I out and/or get my pressure to shoot at 100psi and tighten my consistency?
Sorry if my spelling is off or my organization. Doing everything off of phone. I am at work. Sorry

Just to clarify, were you breaking down the barrel or actually chopping? Or both?

.680-.688 is a pretty big variance which would cause the fps change. Underboring all the way to a .675 is WAY too much. Shoot more paint and you'll start to see better numbers though.

Yeah that is a pretty big variance in paint. You really can't judge consistency in any way until you shoot paint that is at least somewhat close to the same size.
As for kick, that's a tough one since it's very relative to the person. The more you shoot the less kick you should get as your o-rings continue to break in. 108-110psi at 12 dwell isn't really awful. That # of 100 is just roughly what the GT operates at, could give or take depending on many factors especially what fps you were shooting at the chrono.

I've found you want pretty tight/snug valve orings for good efficiency. Poly's are best. Also make sure your middle bolt (switch oring) and the inner bolt keg and spacer orings are all good. It could be causing you to raise you pressure and dwell to compensate for one of them not sealing well. So just go over your drive train and make sure none of your orings are too tight or loose. Also it is cold, well here it is anyways, try using a tad less of an underbore. I doubt you were chopping, if you were make sure your ball settle delay is set correctly and make sure your hopper has fresh batteries and good ball tension.

Sorry for late response. I was actually getting barrel breaks. I got 5 full tanks and have a bunch of old paint (about 4 cases) and will shoot the crap out of everything. I think I will leave dwell at 14 for right now and once I have another 5-10 cases (not including the crap paint i am shooting through) I will look into lowering dwell and hope my gun smooths out.

14 is pointlessly high. Most will run on 11 out of the box 12 is plenty high. Make sure your lube is properly applied, your battery is good, all your orings are good. Because if any of these aren't checked off it doesn't matter how many cases you put through that thing it won't shoot good.

I will re-check all my orings and lower my dwell back to 12 to make sure running good.
But yesterday night my battery was good, all fresh lightly lubed orings (just looks wet on orings) and my orings looked okay. but I will reck my orings and change any that may look even slightly bad.
Thanks for all the help

They may not look bad but do a fit check. Like take out the inner bolt keg oring and then make sure your bolt makes good contact in there and isn't too tight. Same with the spacer. I had brand new orings in my GT valve when I got mine that were so loose when I turned over my valve keg the valve just fell out. If it still doesn't work after you check all that it may have a a weak solenoid, and if so you may want to send it in to Aggressive Sports for some warranty teching. Eric is probably the easiest to work with tech ever.

Well guys I was going back and forth with couple of PM's with a macdev text(mark) and he was super helpful and patient.
I was getting a lot of vibration on my gun today as I was shooting. He suggested I check my sub plate and C if it was loose. So I take my frame apart and notice how it was loose, and once I tighten the 2 screws and all my vibration went away!! Even my kick was gone. I shot my last half pod and was all better. I don't play until sunday and will fully check. But I have confidence it is better by how it felt the last half a pod.
Looking forward to sunday!!!
Mark rocks!!!!!

You're saying the subplate was loose and it wasn't leaking?

It was loose enough for me to press down with my index finger and unscrew it. And no leaks..... I was surprised too, but my problems went away
