He is holding the lid, but with my experience with z2 seepdfeeds they will all pop open when that amount of force is used. And keep in mind that was an exaggerated amount of force to demonstrate a point.
Correct.
As far as the lid goes, the magnets are strong and it does have a small lip built into it. Unfortunately, the Z2 doesn't really give you a lot to "grab" on to. If you're familiar with how our Z2 Crown2 adapter attaches, this CrownSF is the same in that regard.
On an unrelated note, here is a cool video showing just what goes into the springs. It's a pretty sweet machine, and maybe gives some idea to what goes into the CrownSF, considering each finger has a spring which not only has to be custom made, but each one assembled, installed, test etc. etc.
With the CrownSF, we've got 5 fingers, 5 springs, 5 axles, 5 hinges, and an adapter ring (Rotor) or on the Prophecy 2 adapter rings (top/bottom), plus magnets, glue and screws. We've got a build list just for speed feeds (the Spire CrownSF has even more parts)! Each finger has to be assembled, and then the 5 assembled into the final part (for the Prophecy, Halo or Spire). Of course, I think it's totally legitimate for people to make their own determinations about value, etc. But the SF does have quite a bit going on behind the scenes which adds to the cost.

I've had one on my Prophecy V2 since Cup and I love it. About as close to having nothing there as it gets in regards to loading and they physically can not loose a ball through the fingers unless you somehow manage to break one.

Too many markers, not enough time.
I have tested several of the feed systems out there for the rotor.
Exalt, Km, Hk Army, virtue. The virtue Crown SF is simply the best one out there. It will not drop one single ball, easy and fast to reload.
For people who have been playing with reballs you will finally have no problem getting the balls inside your hopper.
Got a spire and the CrownSF for Christmas and they both have been working awesome. I will say I notice it keeping the paint in when Im at the fill station and need to flip my gun around to see the gauge on my tank while filling. My Rotor w/Exalt always lost a few balls. The CrownSF never lost a single one.
Just wondering, how wide is the mouth of the sf for the prophecy? The main reason I bought an empire speedfeed back when I bought the v2 when they were out was because the empire speedfeed kept the wide mouth of the prophecy, as opposed to the original virtue crown that only was the width of a pod.
So in short, does the sf make the mouth of the hopper smaller in any way? I like the wide mouth when I'm reloading, but would love to get this if it is really wide mouthed.

Wider than the crown v1, but not the wide oblong shape of the lid.

After all my research, I finally found that the Virtue Spire had arguably the best combination of reliability, jam proof (So far.. reballs, small balls, brittle balls, etc. fly through), low profile, sturdy build, quiet motor, ease of use and maintenance.
Now, I find that the Spire also has THE BEST speed feed available on the market; exclusive to the Spire. This turned me from my preferential, familiar loaders (Z2 [functionally best], Rotor [aesthetically/structurally best]), which only feature weak, defect ridden rubber speed feeds, save the Exalt.
But I like how my set up looks.
So now, the Virtue CrownSF is available for my favorite Rotor? Oh man.. Since I don't use 'special needs' paint, and don't need to go higher than 15 bps (though Rotor can go as fast, just not as reliably sustained), the only benefit left to grab the Virtue Spire, for me, is the quiet operation.
If I was doing a scenario, where stealth and silence are often imperative, the Spire would blow the Rotor out of the water; but I don't have $200 to blow for the occasional scenario, unfortunately.
So, for now, I'm going to stick with this sexy number, and grab the now available Virtue CrownSF

So since you have replied twice since it was first asked. No trade in program for people with crown2's like you did with the spire?
There isn't a trade in being planned as this is an entirely different product and the crown2 is still available at a separate price point (crown1 as well).
With the Spire Crown2, we introduced new straight (stiffer) fingers that really didn't work as well in practice on the Spire for most people, combined with the fact there just wasn't any other choice but to buy that option. We felt we didn't want to leave people high and dry who were not only "early adopters" on the loader but also got a speed feed they had no alternative to buy and weren't happy with. It was kind of a different situation. Also now that we have both options out for the Spire we aren't doing trade-ins - its just not something that can sustain itself to take a loss on the product long term like that.
I wish I had a happier answer for you guys on this. I'd love to make it cheap for everyone, but development and production on a product like this isn't cheap. I know for those guys who buy it they'll find the value to be worth it, but I realize that's not a huge consolation when you're hoping for a deal.
