my vapor wont chop now

That 1 and 1/2 turn of the feather touch fixed all my chopping problems

read the tuning guide; if it's leaking from the front of the bolt, it's either the rear feedneck oring (017 that seals against the outside of the bolt) or the main seal (013 that seals on the inside of the bolt)

I also tend to lube my detents slightly so they don't bind, and that seems to make a world of difference

future reference:

To get the rear feedneck oring back in, put the engine/drivetrain back in and turn it 90* to one side. This will pull the bolt back far enough that the oring groove will be lined up with the front of the bolt. Now, when you drop the 017 into the feedneck and push it back, it should sit in the groove without falling back into the shot chamber.

1) My Vapor was shooting with kickback/recoil on Sunday, and 2) not chrono-ing over 6-7bps.

I'm thinking I'll need to adjust the FT screw; (I didn't have an allen wrench that small). Any thoughts?

Replace your battery; it sounds like there's not enough juice to charge the noid. I'd also check your board settings and make sure your FT isn't locked down all the way.

Invest in a GOOD set of allen keys and keep them for youself. you'll thank me later.

lol I've got a great set of allen keys... just don't have that one tiny size that fits the FT screw.

And yeah... I'll change the battery (hadn't done this after sending it off to Machine... )

Thanks Tony.

edit: After changing the batter and adjusting the FT screw I'm back to being in love with my Vapor... actually proud to call it "my Vapor" since it's the nicest shooting marker I've ever touched.

If your issue with the grip is what I had with it leaving the battery kind of exposed, your grip screws are in the wrong spots. The screws are smaller on certain holes so you just have to line the right ones up.

2 screws are shorter, 4 are longer. Watch out with that.

So there's this thing called a solenoid...and it takes up a fair amount of space within your marker.

What you want to do is put the small screws in the top holes, closest to the back of the marker (right by the Vapor logos). If you put the longer screws in the back, they'll stick out a good amount because they're bottoming out on the solenoid.

The two longer screws go on the bottom, and up front by the trigger.

i already have that screws setup. i refer to the gap that is just below the trigger frame. it seems like the grip is to big. that gap make my grip a little loose in the front side.

My grips don't have a gap anywhere. One common problem I've seen on vapors/egos/etc. are when people over-tighten their grip screws and crack the plastic backing inside the grips. That causes the grips to sit loosely. I don't mean to downplay any issues, but I normally side on user-error more than anything else.

Regardless, I'm working on getting a few other manufactures to make flat-panel grips for the Vapor so hopefully we'll see an influx of products in the near future.
