I think this is better suited for the paintball talk section. Feedback here would be highly in favor of the NT platform.

I think they are great markers that got a bad reputation due to owners not understanding how they work. This led to problems and eventually led to the NT series being looked down upon.
I have one and I freaking love it. Great markers to pick up for a great price these days. I'd honestly like to see Dye try to bring the NT series back in some way. Whether or not it has the same name I could care less.

I've been thinking about picking one up. I've been a DM/PM owner for most of the time that I've played paintball and they've all been great markers. I know that the NT was marketed more towards poppit valve gun owners since it has a faster moving bolt which is better for semi-auto play. But also think that's why they've had a reputation of chopping alot since people play with it in psp mode and not semi-auto. Not that it can't handle psp, but like MaSsAcRe said, some people just didn't understand them.

No it wasn't because of that I don't think. It's because they operate in a specific pressure range which means if you screw with the hpr too much the gun isn't gonna work right.
The smoothness is on par to that of a dm in my opinion. They're just a big louder. More of a pop to the sound.

If you treat the gun with respect and you know how to read a manual, it'll be one of the best markers out there

All around the NT series is amazing. The only thing I've ever had a problem with is my eye pipe. But as long as you maintain it right, it's an amazing marker.
