I am SO!!!! tired of other parents not letting their kids play paintball. Sure they will let their kids sit at home and get fat playing Halo, COD, etc, but oh no, paintball is bad because they are playing with REAL guns.
I made a couple of videos to put things right. BUT!!! I want to do more...Any thoughts. Any video ideas...let me know.
Any unreal concerns that as a parent I can address directly to the parents. Let me know.
Here are the videos for reference. New version of video as of January 30, 2013

make a video interviewing your son, just so parents can get a point of view from a younger player

One fact that surprises many parents is that it's safer than cheerleading. It's a noncontact sport so obviously much safer than football. Sure we all walk away with some bruises but usually that's the extent of it.
And boys love guns and shooting stuff. At a well run organized facility the cost is worth it for the supervision of the kids in the proper environment versus picking up paintball guns and running through the neighborhood.
Talk to the parents of your sons friends and just invite them along. My son is 11 and I've gotten a couple of his friends parents to come out and the kids keep begging to come back for more.
Good luck with them!

Paintball keeps kids out of trouble. I'll take playing paintball with my friends and having a good time any day over some other kids my age who are doing drugs or just up to no good.

This is the only reason my parents have not vetoed my spending money on paintball. They would prefer me shoot my friends with paint than have me out smoking or other stupid stuff

My dad loves the fact that I play paintball. I love computers and video games and he loves the idea of me getting out and active. Paintball is actually safer than sports like football. Think about it. In almost every football game someone gets injured. Sure you can pull a muscle or twist An ankle in paintball, but you can do that in any physical sport. Paintballs do hurt, but they don't cause injury (unless you don't wear a mask... And a cup).

Great video I really enjoyed it, thankfully my parents do not question my want to play paintball.
An idea is to, following up on an earlier suggestion, record you and your son talking about how paintball has made you closer as a family. I am sure that if fathers see how paintball acted as a mechanism for you two to bond, through your own accounts, then they would be more motivated to pursue the idea with their own child.
Someone else's Child: Let them shoot your gun on a Full auto mode of some sort.. It will get them hooked lol. But make sure you have permission or something first.
Also Splatmaster.

My son is 11 and plays. The father of one of his friends is active military. When I asked him if he would let his boys play with us he said sure. He said paintball shows kids that real combat is not like the movies. When they play paintball they will get shot, a lot. He said it would give the boys a more realistic idea of what war is like, unlike video games.
Kinda made sense especially coming from a combat marine
