Turf, Grass, or Dirt?
What is your favorite speedball/hyperball play surface and why?

I'm used to grass where I play, easier traction w/cleats and good sliding

Turf is terrible once it's littered with paintballs.
I love playing on well taken care of grass

It depends on how well each is taken care of. I have played on all 3. For dirt, we used to have a field that was rock hard. We also had a field that was all dirt, but is was grated every week to make is soft. It was the best field around. For turf, if it is high quality, then it is the best to play on. However, if it isn't taken care of or is that carpet turf that is low quality, then it sucks. We don't have much grass out here for fields, but we had an event at a soccer complex a few years back and that was really nice to play on.
If I had to chose them on a whim, it would be turf, then grass, then dirt.

Grass is my favorite. Turf is fun to slide on, but tears up your knees in the long-run.

Grass for sure. Best sliding, best traction.
That said I have played on some dirt fields that were better than hard grass fields, but over all grass.

Yeah I can't stand it either. A hell of a lot of cleaning afterwards.

It'd be a tie between grass and turf for me.
Edit: Depends on what shoes I'm using.

I am use to grass, but if the turf is right that is always fun to play on. Dirt... no thanks. As long as it is easy to run on and is good for sliding.

Thats where its at! I can't tell you how much i hate sliding on turf when there like a 2inch layer of unborken and borken paintballs on the ground.

I started on dirt, shredded pants, I like grass kept or not. I also learned to like turf when I started reffing at an indoor place. Doesnt matter too much to me
