Garbage.

Mine was DOA - leaked down the barrel. I've tried (5) different tank pressures, 6 different cupseals from 4 different manufacturers but no dice. Polishing, lubrication, locktiting seal, nothing worked. Woulda sent it in for repair but they didn't include a warranty card and won't honor the one year warranty without it even though the marker came out 4 months ago.

I'm not even that pissed it doesn't work (other than the $130 down the toiled) because the return spring in the pump doesn't actually return and the frame is like a medieval torture device.

Two thumbs down; buy an older Nelson or an Empire Tracer.

Sounds like it wasn't broken, you just didn't know how to fix it.

And how is the frame a medieval torture device? It's just a standard .45 single trigger frame.

Trying to think what year I put together the first direct feed kit for my 007... Here's a pictured of one I built that I just got back, and after decades of torture and abuse it still holds air - I'm not sure my cousin ever ran lube through it, at some point he spraypainted it, it's been beat to piss. It's now in a bath of Simple Green and Lestoil to get it ready to be retired and hung on the the wall.

All you need is an O-ring for the valve seat and a cup seal; that's two failure points - not hard to **** up a Nelson valve design, especially if you've built them successfully in the past and supposedly know what you're doing.

The frame IS NOT a standard 45 frame. It's taller, more shallow, and thinner. It also has the grip screws mounted about 2cm lower. This means that no wraparound 45 grips will fit it comfortably, even for my big hands - there's almost but not quite enough room for two fingers between the top finger groove and the bottom of the trigger guard. Even the grips that are included are terrible; they don't fit properly to the frame, and the human hand doesn't fit properly to them.

I can tell you this; the angled chamber face on the new Hammer may be a slightly more efficient system but it's the weakest point of the marker; it uses a greater surface area to seal but its angle requires an almost perfectly matched seal and a tiny bit of corrosion or debris renders it nonfunctional. A traditional flat seat has minimal surface area but is so idiot-proof it can seal a brass cup against steel.

Could I make up a new valve seat? Sure. Could I then carve a better cupseal from delrin then drill and tap it? Sure. Could I make a frame from scratch or hack and drill for a Lonestar style grip? Sure. Cut a mainspring down to make the pump return work? Sure...

Thing is ya shouldn't HAVE to spend hours trying to get a brand new $130 marker running. God forbid I was a newbie player, I might be so pissed I'd never start playing or play again. I'm just blown away that Kingman forgot to include a warranty card with this (1 year MFG warranty) and wants to charge me for parts or service to fix it unless I can "prove" that I bought a 4 month old marker less than a year ago!

The fact of the matter is even if it had worked it would be a disappointment based on the frame, the pump system, and the feedneck. Toss in a D.O.A. marker and the worst customer service I've ever encountered - Damn right I'm not gonna recommend it.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you just return it to the place you bought it? Most if not all dealers will exchange a defective product.

The only thing that worries me is if dust/sand/paintball fill gets into the mag. That could cause some serious problems. Would've been great if the existing slit in the mag was covered with a clear plastic window and move the spring lock to the back with counter measures against contamination.
