The sort of official list of Classic, Rare and Vintage markers. This is by no means a complete list. But it is a starting point and gives you an idea of what could be listed in this forum. If you have something you know is a classic, rare or vintage gun, feel free to post it in this forum.

There will be a million exceptions so if you have a rare or classic gun for sale - please post it up! If it isn't on this list or you are worried it won't be instantly recognized as the classic that it is, make sure to post what makes it a classic. (Example: Very low (single digit) serial numbers often attract collectors.)

PTP Micromags would be generalized under "Older Mags" so there isn't a mile long list of each mag that exists.

However, both have been added for now.

This thread is greatly need and appreciated! Maybe the general guideline we are looking for on WGP is pre 2005? IE Pre karnivor/2k6 blackmagic etc.

Those would both qualify. That's one of the reasons why we didn't just say, "any gun before 2000." There are some awesome, rare guns that aren't that old.

I think it's more for factory limited runs, not so much custom 1 of 1's.

And they have gen 1 timmy's listed

I think that this section is a good idea but it has lots of room to be destroyed by all of these "1 of XXX", "signed by XXX", and "custom" guns.

I also dont completely agree with the list, I know that you said that it is not set in stone so to speak but there are lots of things that I disagree with in the list like:

dm4's and up are not allowed when ST dm4's and 5's are rarer then most dm3's.
Why would only early works cockers?
why freeflow fulcrums when millenniums are much more desired?
If your going to count rippers and other small shop customs then why not eyeballs, punisher, etc.?
There are probably less than 30 evil ems out there so why not count those?
Why only gmax shockers when there are tons of other rare shockers?
How would an exalt droid be any different from a private label timmy or any other new gun with custom ano or milling?
And Vertebrae's are harder to find than evo or freeflows. Same with ultralight cockers.

Not trying to be too negative but I'm just saying that some of these guideline are going to lead people down the wrong path

You understand the list is just to point people in the right direction, right? I don't think any of those guns would be turned away...

Evil M's would be the only one of those I'd have to think about (just since those were all scratch built and the quality is all over the place). However, things that there are "tons of" probably don't all qualify.

That's one of the many reasons why we specifically tell people that if they want to list a gun that they aren't sure would be considered a classic, they should just put why it should be in the first couple lines of their post.
